The story is a fresh idea. However it's very dated and a little unrelatable in 2023. Hence the reason for the average overall rating . I was tired of all of the slang. I liked the story and plot. may read the second installment.

I can see and hear the dead. I can also talk to animals. As a natural-born witch and medium, I can do a lot of odd things. In most people's eyes, that makes me a loon. I like to think of it as being unique and eccentric. Plus, now that destiny has brought me back to the town I was born in, I'm not all that different from the supernatural residents of Grimm Cove.

next installment in a quickly written series

I'm sort of hooked on the storyline so I keep listening to the series. The narrator doesn't even try to imitate different male voices, which is annoying. The climax is anticlimactic. it's over before you really get into it. The mystical nature of the creatures and town is an interesting premise, but the 2nd and 3rd installments fail to really excite. Although I've listened to three books in the series, I just can't listen to the next one. I don't care enough.

Highly recommended for parents of teens

I am a Baby Boomer parent of 3 older teens/young adults. The information I heard was incredibly useful. I wish that I had heard of it years ago. Today's youth have so many things to deal with that I never had. I try to keep up but it's hard to parent the way you were parented. It just doesn't work that way. Please read this book.

Love the memes and T-shirt slogans. Are they copyrighted? Darynda has a way of tying in all of the subplots at the end. I didn't see the ending coming. Can't wait for the conclusion. Beep needs to grow up soon.
