Historia
Over twenty years ago, the heiress Patricia Lockwood was abducted during a robbery of her family's estate, then locked inside an isolated cabin for months. Patricia escaped, but so did her captors - and the items stolen from her family were never recovered. Until now. On the Upper West Side, a recluse is found murdered in his penthouse apartment, alongside two objects of note: a stolen Vermeer painting and a leather suitcase bearing the initials WHL3. For the first time in years, the authorities have a lead - with the suitcase and painting both pointing them toward one man.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Not what you think of when you think King
Revisado: 06-15-22
It's an interesting story, but certainly not the edge of your seat, can't put it down King book.
The story is slow moving and surprisingly predictable.
If you want a book with a newer type plot line then you'll enjoy this book.
If you're looking for the typical King book I'd choose a different title.
I listen to my books while driving long distances, to keep me awake. This book, I had to listen to only at home while cleaning.

Historia
Debra Newell is nothing if not a survivor. By the time she met John Michael Meehan online, she lived through a near-fatal childhood illness, an attempted rape in her 20s, the traumatic death of her sister at the hands of her brother-in-law, four failed marriages, and a litany of dating disasters. But despite those tragedies, she seemed to have it all: adoring children, a successful business, a fabulous penthouse apartment.

Monotone as hell and zero accountability
Revisado: 11-15-21
In no way does anyone deserve to be abused... With that said when it happens over and over at some point we do need to look at our own actions. This lady has a buttload of warning and chose to ignore it. The second this man laid hands on my daughter it would have been over. Period end of story. I've been in an abusive relationship as a young scared girl with no money and felt no way to escape. That is until the night he threatened my child, that was it, I was out. I sure as hell didn't have the money and resources to get out that this woman had.
Again no one deserves to be abused, but damn it take some responsibility instead of I don't know how many times she said it's not her fault in this book.

Historia
In Mr. Trump’s campaign against what he calls “Fake News”, CNN Chief White House Correspondent, Jim Acosta, is public enemy number one. From the moment Mr. Trump announced his candidacy in 2015, he has attacked the media, calling journalists “the enemy of the people”. Acosta presents a damning examination of bureaucratic dysfunction, deception, and the unprecedented threat the rhetoric Mr. Trump is directing has on our democracy. When the leader of the free world incites hate and violence, Acosta doesn’t back down, and he urges his fellow citizens to do the same.

Trump Sucks
Revisado: 09-25-19
Very well done and of course Mr. Acosta is easy to listen too. Reading/Listening to this, will certainly bring back the anger, one felt when all this took place originally. To learn so much more of what all went on, scares the shit out of me for our country. Even just one part, of the story should throw everyone into a rage, against 45 and his minions...That part is the proven and easily fact checked incident, that the White House knownly used a "doctored" video, presented by good ol' Sanders. Did ya get that?!?!? The president of the United States of America, KNOWINGLY authorized a doctored tape to strip a man of his career and reputation. Used a false tape to smother a man of his freedom of the press, of reporting on Trump's administration.
But I digress, it's a damn good book.

With Fire and Fury, Michael Wolff defined the first phase of the Trump administration; now, in Siege, he has written an equally essential and explosive book about a presidency that is under fire from almost every side. A stunningly fresh narrative that begins just as Trump’s second year as president is getting underway and ends with the delivery of the Mueller Report, Siege reveals an administration that is perpetually beleaguered by investigations and a president who is increasingly volatile, erratic, and exposed.

Probably the 4th time I've read this book
Revisado: 04-23-19
I've read this book 3 times and now listened to it, granted this is over a decade at least. It's a how to book for me that from time to time when life starts punching I need to read it again.
It really helps you see where your thoughts and beliefs came from and get rid of the ones that don't serve to make the best you. It helps to strengthen the beliefs that do contribute to your best you. I guess what makes this book different is it doesn't tell you what you should or shouldn't do, it gets you to think about where your thoughts come from and how to handle them. Mildly spiritual, but again you decide which deity or none at all you think about or turn to. Only book I own that I have the physical book, digital book and now audible book.
If you struggle with yourself at times or want to make a great life even better, I highly recommend.
