I’m about to begin homeschooling our oldest as he enters pre-k. Though only pre-k, I know I will tend towards expecting perfection, potentially burning myself out while sucking the wonder and fun out of learning. Knowing these tendencies of my own, I’ve been doing a bit of reflection on how I can keep my own strengths and weaknesses in their proper places, especially in my relationship with my son and his schooling.

This book is a great gift. It is simple, yet profound. It touches on the appropriate view of our everyday, crazy life, keeping our priorities in check through it all. I can see how the concepts and ideas presented on these pages can bring calm and peace in our relationships, home, and schooling without neglecting the responsibilities and unknowns each day brings. It is very practical and definitely helps me envision homeschooling as a golden opportunity versus a burden.

This book is beautiful. It is filled with sound ideas to bring our family life and relationships fully alive. It spoke to my own desire for adventure and to pass that love onto my children. It is practical, simple, yet challenging in the best of ways. This book encourages me and helps me envision how I can do even more adventures (big & small) with my children, making them meaningful without getting overwhelmed.
