Historia
John Corabi recounts his life from the mean streets of Philadelphia to the Sunset Strip. Take a look behind the scenes at Corabi’s time fronting Mötley Crüe, Union, and The Dead Daisies, as well as his time playing rhythm guitar with Ratt and even his stint as a long-haul trucker. Whether it’s detailing his parents' difficult divorce, his family’s dark history of abuse, his run-in with a serial killer, or simply the best way to arrive at a wedding—which maybe is by helicopter and maybe it isn’t—he pulls no punches and outlines the good and bad of it all in this raucous autobiography.

Great story
Revisado: 03-31-24
John is an amazingly talented singer with a really interesting story and it was a great listen.
The hardest part about this book was his own reading of it. I listen to a lot of audio books, and prefer authors reading their own stories but in this case he might not be a super strong reader or maybe he just didn't have a lot to do with the actual writing of this book because his inflections weren't in the proper part of the sentence, or inflection trailed up as if it were a question, or he's just not a strong reader.
Even an elementary aged child in my car who listed to a small snippet thought it was as if he was reading the material for the first time.
That being said, if you are a fan of him and his music, **please do get this book anyway.**
I ordered a physical copy and this listen to support him and I have purchased everything that he has sung, if you're reading this you will likely do the same so please don't let this detract you.

inspiring and humbling
Revisado: 12-24-23
I listened to this immediately following Jada Pinkett's autobiography.
I don't really watch the type of movies that Will stars in so I haven't followed his individual press, but I was sort of fascinated with trying to discern his side of things from listening to Jada's life story.
What a fascinating life he's led and I am very inspired to have learned that his success although of course luck does play into any Hollywood success, it was interesting to learn that he was quite strategic, researched and deeply disciplined in his path to becoming successful. I was captivated from beginning to end and was a little surprised by his level of self-awareness.

In 1984, at the age of 20, Duff McKagan left his native Seattle - partly to pursue music, but mainly to get away from a host of heroin overdoses then-decimating his closest group of friends in the local punk scene. In LA only a few weeks and still living in his car, he answered a want ad for a bass player placed by someone who identified himself only as "Slash." Soon after, the most dangerous band in the world was born. Guns N' Roses went on to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide.

If you read ONE Guns book THIS IS THE ONE
Revisado: 04-06-22
Absolutely inspiring, well written, articulate but doesn't leave out any of the debauchery your average reader came here to find.
I personally came for the redemption, the story of the survivor who was astute enough to not squander his third and fourth chances, whose new lease on life is one of intellect, education, family pride and just enough rock and roll to remember where he came from.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book.

Made me like him more as a person, but also less..
Revisado: 03-29-22
I've always admired Sebastian Bach's voice but his temperament and childish, petulant behavior was such a turn-off I'd all but tuned him out.
Not sure why I gave this book a try, to be honest. I love that he narrated it himself, his giggling during it was actually endearing instead of annoying
I was surprised to learn about the breadth of his knowledge of Art and his exposure to it has a child and appreciation of it as an adult.
I found that fascinating.
The things that I did not like about this book were that he did not speak at all of the act of actually getting married for the first time which seems a disservice to his wife of 20 years, nor did he speak at all about the actual birth of any of his three children.
He did however, at the end of the book speak at length about the joy now felt at his quote new family that his second marriage has brought with the addition of her two children. I can imagine how his firdt 3 children may have felt reading or hearing this.
Author missed a really solid and perfect opportunity to mend potential wounds of the past with both Maria and his three children. I'm sad that he didn't see the opportunity for what it was, one to commemorate in writing his love for them.
While I'm glad to hear there has been a lot of personal growth, this part was very striking to me.
Keep growing, Sebastian....
