Historia
So begins a press release from a mysterious group known only as “The Five,” shortly after a vicious predator is murdered in San Francisco. The Five is made up of vigilante killers who are very bored…and very rich. They target the worst of society—rapists, murderers, and thieves—and then use their unlimited resources to offset the damage done by those who they’ve killed, donating untraceable Bitcoin to charities and victims via the dark net. The Five soon become popular figures in the media …though their motives may not be entirely pure.

Not one of his Best
Revisado: 10-23-22
Im a big Davenport and Virgil Flowers fan however this book with them working together was just OK. First off even though Richard Ferrone is a great narrator for Davenport he was a poor choise with both of them in the story, you never knew who was talking, Richard Ferrone is a single character reader, this story needed someone that can change up voices since there was a lot of banter between Davenport and Flowers that was hard to follow
the Story plot was OK, I thought there were a lot of plot holes. Trump Sycophants would definitely not like this story however I think the book made liberals look like idiots as well. There was definitely a politacal antigun slant to this book so if you are a hard core gun rights person you might find it annoying.

Historia
Ataegina was an isolated world of medieval castles, varied cultures, and conquests, vibrant until the demons rose and spread relentless destruction. Swarms of lethal creatures with black husks, murderous claws, barbed tails, and dreaded “tooth-tongues” raged through the lowlands, killing 90 percent of the planet’s population. Terrified survivors fled to hidden mountain keeps where they eke out a meager existence. When a trio of young warriors discovers a new weapon, they see a chance to end this curse. To save humanity, they must fight.

Scott Sigler does a fresh new twist on the Alien Saga and it was an amazing ride. The story was well paced with lots of twists and turns in the plot. The narrator did an amazing job on all the characters it was always clear which one was speaking

Great overall book
Revisado: 03-09-22
The story and plot line were superb from start to finish. All the characters were well developed. The story was told in a unique way where it was told from the point of view of all the different characters. The Book was enhanced by splitting the characters among different narrators, especially the one main woman character narrated by a woman.

Historia
Veteran reporter Jack McEvoy has taken down killers before, but when a woman he had a one-night stand with is murdered in a particularly brutal way, McEvoy realizes he might be facing a criminal mind unlike any he's ever encountered. Jack investigates - against the warnings of the police and his own editor - and makes a shocking discovery that connects the crime to other mysterious deaths across the country. Great all around book!
Revisado: 03-01-21
I don't give reviews that often but just had to give a good review here. The book was great with many twists and turns there were many times I thought I was able to predict what was going to happen and was wrong. The narrator was excellent. I really like books where the protagonist has flaws and Michael Connelly does a good job on doing this with his characters. I really like him exploring books with new characters like this one and the Lincoln Lawyer, I think Bosch needs to be retired permanently.

Historia
While competing in a fishing tournament in a remote area of Northern Minnesota, Virgil Flowers receives a call from Lucas Davenport to investigate a brutal murder at a nearby resort for women only. As Virgil begins investigating, he finds a web of connections between the people at the resort, the victim, and some local women, notably a talented and popular country singer. The more Virgil digs, the more he discovers the arrows of suspicion point in many directions, encompassing a multitude of motivations: jealousy, blackmail, greed, anger, and fear.

my least like Sanford book
Revisado: 08-12-19
I really enjoy all of Sanford's Davenport and Flowers books. Normally the stories are interesting and their lots of plot twists and turns. I found this to be slow and not as intriguing. This was so dull that I had forgotten that I must have listened to it in the past but had the unabridged version in my library. When the released the new unabridged I thought it was a new book and I bought it.

Clayton Deese looks like a small-time criminal, muscle for hire when his loan shark boss needs to teach someone a lesson. Now, seven months after a job that went south and landed him in jail, Deese has skipped out on bail, and the US Marshals come looking for him. They don't much care about a low-level guy - it's his boss they want - but Deese might be their best chance to bring down the whole operation. Then, they step onto a dirt trail behind Deese's rural Louisiana cabin and find a jungle full of graves.

Good but not Great
Revisado: 05-01-19
If your a John Sandford/Lucas Davenport fan get this book you won't be disappointed. That said I found this story a little lacking in action. I felt like there was a lot of filler material. A previous reviewer nailed it wasn't a true Davenport novel since in the past Davenport was making all the decisions and actually solving the crimes, in this case he just seemed to be following others most of the time no real undercover of truth. Still a good story with lots of action, just not as good as previous versions.

I am a huge Ken Follet fan and recommend all of his books. This one fell short for me. I don't know why it was just a bit boring and not nearly as entertaining as the previous 2 in this series. I think that he tried to have this be a fictional historical novel more than his previous

Historia
In Naked Prey, John Sandford puts Lucas Davenport through some changes. His old boss, Rose Marie Roux, has moved up to the state level and taken Lucas with her. In addition, Lucas is now married and a new father, both of which are fine with him: He doesn't mind being a family man. But he is a little worried. For every bit of peace you get, you have to pay - and he's waiting for the bill. It comes in the form of two people found hanging from a tree in the woods of northern Minnesota. What makes it particularly sensitive is that the bodies are of a black man and a white woman, and they're naked....

Just can't get enough Sandford!
Revisado: 03-28-13
I love Sandford books but recently been hesitant to purchase them thinking that Lucas Davenport is going to get old and boring. Sandford Never Disappoints. this book is excellent even if you read the later books where he already has some characters introduced by the story you'll still love it. I am not going to hesitate in getting a Sanford book in the future and now going through my library to see if there are any I haven't listened to yet.
Im suprised there isn't a whole slew of movies based on Davenport.

Couldn't stop listening to it
Revisado: 02-11-13
Tom Clancy is back on his game. Lately I have been dissapointed with Clancy's books I felt as if they were ghost written. This book was the best book since " A clear and preset danger" . The cyber war part was excellent. Im an IT professional and felt for the most part the computer technology parts were believable, I even learned some new things.
This book started out immediately interesting I couldn' t stop listening to it. I felt the narrator did a great job the only thing I didn't like was the voice he used for the Russian.
