Historia
chin-wag: to have a chat, a friendly conversation. Actor Paul Giamatti and Stephen Asma, author and philosopher, join forces for a freewheeling series of conversations that dive deep (like, really, really deep) into the wilderness of the mind. Featuring prominent guests from diverse fields, Chinwag is esoteric in the best way possible, as Paul and Stephen delve into anything and everything: Are we living in a simulation? What’s the most perfect sentence in literature? Is Bigfoot interdimensional? Science, the occult, philosophy, magic mushrooms… it’s all fair game! Unexpected, hilarious,...

Big fan of Friends and Memoirs so...
Revisado: 12-02-22
it's really a heartbreaking tale from such a beloved human being. The honesty is raw and sometimes painful to listen to Matty's story of addiction. It is such a terrible disease. I truly hope he has found sobriety and peace. We are all rooting for him.

a trip down memory lane
Revisado: 08-25-22
I really enjoyed the book. it was fun to hear about the inception of many of my favorite sitcoms and the art and genius behind them. I caught myself laughing out loud as Jim read from the scripts and I was able to picture the episodes. it's a great book for any aspirational theater or TV Director tho read. I found his leadership skills helpful as well. Enjoy !

Historia
Gadsby grew up as the youngest of five children in Tasmania, where homosexuality was illegal until 1997. After moving to mainland Australia and receiving a degree in art history, they found themselves adrift, working itinerant jobs and enduring years of isolation punctuated by homophobic and sexual violence. When Gadsby was twenty-seven, a friend encouraged them to enter a stand-up competition. They won, and so began their career in comedy.

A review
Revisado: 06-29-22
I need to remind myself that just because a comedian wrote it doesn't mean it will be funny. It's a compelling memoir filled with stories of growing up, confused, oppressed, depressed with tragic events, peppered with some comedy. You root for and feel for Hannah and glad that she finally realizes her worth, beauty and gifts to the world.

Historia
Goose Island opened as a family-owned Chicago brewpub in the late 1980s, and it soon became one of the most inventive breweries in the world. In the golden age of light and cheap beers, John Hall and his son Greg brought European flavors to America. With distribution in two dozen states, two brewpubs and status as one of the twenty biggest breweries in the United States, Goose Island became an American success story and was a champion of craft beer. Then, on March 28, 2011, the Halls sold the brewery to Anheuser-Busch InBev, maker of Budweiser, the least craft-like beer imaginable.

interesting ride
Revisado: 05-12-21
Great ride down beer memory lane in Chicago. As someone who worked with the beer business for almost 18 years this was an interesting inside look at the sale of one of my favorite breweries. Still love Goose Island; and the complicated relationship between big beer, distributors and the all important craft beer consumers.

Historia
When street musician James Bowen found an injured cat curled up in the hallway of his apartment building, he had no idea how much his life was about to change. James was living hand to mouth on the streets of London, barely making enough money to feed himself - the last thing he needed was a pet. Yet, James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent, but very sick animal, whom he named Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, never imagining that he would see him again. But Bob had other ideas.

a great listen for struggling leaders
Revisado: 02-07-21
This was recommended at a perfect time for me. I left a job after 34 years and started fresh at a new place. a dream job. As my leaders at the new company would call me, or ask a question via email my heart would race, I would panic. I didn't know why? Until I got this book. I literally had PTSD from the leadership at my prior company. All the bad...it was there. All the good...I'm seeing, and trying to practice, is at my new company. It was eye opening. I can feel good now going to work, helping my employees be better along with forgiving myself.
