Outstanding Story of One Of WWII Great Heroes

In the early years of WWII US Submarines were hobbled by both flawed torpedos and overly conservative doctrine. Mush Morton rewrote the doctrine from conservative stalking to the aggressive tactics of hungry Pirates, not seeking treasure but rather preventing Japanese troops and materials transiting to and from the Homeland. His leadership style put far more responsibility on the shoulders of lower ranked crewmen, focusing on the big picture.

All of this in the form of an action packed account into the heart of the Japanese empire.

Highly recommended for its value as an historical account, study of leadership and of human performance in the most violent crucible of War.

Awesome book on fine tuning management based on a fundamental transfer of decisions from "boss , may I " to " I intend to ...." The difference may seem minor but the actual practice produces a major change . The "subordinate" tells what he intends to do rather than asking for your permission .

While the difference appears slight the management significance is immense. The subordinate is taking responsibility for the decision and only checking so see if you have a valid reason to overrule.

The book is well written and easy to enjoy .

This is a great read from the inside of dealing with Covid and being the lunch meat in the sandwich between Trump and Fauci. Written by probably the most well-informed T.C. bureaucrat involved in the fight. Highly recommended.

Great insight into formula 1 and Hass racing. This is a review of the Amazon audible version which was narrated by the author.

He makes no effort to filter his impression of events as they occurred sends us so with passion and a great deal of expertise.

It’s also a great look into Hass racing and their evolution, painful at times.

The intensity reflects that associated with racing at the top level where performance is everything. Difficulties, successes, frustrations, call brought to the page for the audible version with unfiltered passion

The angst I was struggling with Mick Schumacher, and the anger of money when he was let go are in itself a great story

Highly recommend , Especially the audible version.

A MUST READ REGARDLESS OF YOUR POLITICS

There are few if any contemporary reporters who have such a distinguished record of researching and delivering the truth. Her tenacity . intellect and integrity have repeatedly opened America's eyes to truths that those in power in politics or business did not want shared.

As a Charter Member of FOG ( Fing Old Guys) I was brought up on largely fact based reporting in a system with a few competing major papers, radio news stations and then TV stations. Although some major stories were later shown to have been flawed for the most part competition kept folks honest.

Sadly much of that was lost with the major networks, news seen as an opportunity to push political views with the selection, omission or simply neglect of facts.

In this enviornment Sharyl rose to be one of the most respected reporters covering stories that required extensive research and the willingness to challenge the corporate news mission.

Readers may remember some of the stories

Drug side effects

Obamacare waste and fraud

Benghazi (how the official account was largely fiction to cover negligence, inaction and coverup

Fast and Furious - The Obama administration's deliberate efforts to have US firearms delivered to Mexico and the deaths
that resulted

Her leaving CBS brought only more trouble for those who would prefer that actions and facts be hidden for political or financial reasons. That she was a dangerous pest to Administrations and to the agreed news narrative of the major networks resulted in a lot of things happening to interfere with her work. In addition it was discovered and proven that her computers had been infected with a highly sophisticated bit of malware that it only available to a couple of intelligence agencies.

As the title indicates it is about how the news is relentlessly slanted to meet both corporate needs and the official and unofficial whims of politicians , all with extraordinary efforts to hide both the intent and the truth.

One small example of this which is not covered in the book at it was documented after publication is that Faucci's working group on COVID had a primary channel that they used for communications which would be subject to public release and a second channel that they intended to hide. At the same time as they were dismissing ( at the instruction of Faucci and others) they believed that there was very strong evidence that covid had been engineered in a lab and that the logical place was Wuhan. They also lamented that experiments in the lab were being performed in a much less secure lab than was represented to the US would be used.

The effort to support the Wet Market theory was concurrently supported by the firm Faucci used to deliver funds to the Wuhan Lab. Eco Health Alliance ghost wrote a letter dismissing the lab leak theory and they got 20 scientists to sign it as their work and have it published in Lancet , the gold standard of medical news.

Attkisson is a national treasure and her work is exceptionally well researched and documented without respect to political consequences on any side. This book on how the news is slanted should help every American better filter what they are told on the TV , radio and print media............

Sadly we have seen that the Russian Dossier story was embraced by the press while it turned out to be totally false while the Hunter Biden Laptop dismissed by the press has turned out to be (many knew all along) genuine .

The takeaway is an old Reagan saying "trust but verify" Sharyl's work and book exemplifies that aspiration

Although there were a few portions of the book that were a little difficult to accept it is a great story of a post Apocalyptic America . Highly recommended . Although the threats may be a bit different there is no doubt that due to threats abroad and self inflicted domestic political stupidity and corruption that the future may be uncertain but the approach of major threats and challenges certain.

Donna Brazile has written a magnificent account of Hillary's run for the Presidency from her position as a replacement DNC National Chairwoman. It was not a job she sought but one that she was drafted for when the excesses of Debbie Wasserman Schultz became a major problem.

There had been a computer intrusion but Debbie Wasserman would not allow the FBI access to their computer. Later Donna would discover that there were secret agreements made between the DNC under Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Hillary's campaign that gave Hillary control of a very substantial portion of the DNC funding. Not only did it violate the law but it also affected the ability of the DNC to support candidates nationwide.

The DNC convention had been rigged for Hillary and against Bernie. Brazille describes the many maneuvers used to affect voting at the convention.

The book is a great read, written by an outstanding woman and provides the best analysis of how Hillary's team lead the party to defeat.

Highly recommended......

Your Worst Thoughts About the Clinton White House

A great story from the inside of the Clinton White House

The outrages of the Clinton Whitehouse have paled a bit over the years . For the author they were very real. The life of the President is in their hands and they are there to defend against all threats. For Bill the primary day to day threat was a catastrophic collision between Hillary and one of the ladies of the White House who seemed to have access wildly beyond their official roles.

As a senior Secret Service officer Byrne was very involved in knowing where the President was ., who he was with and his need to attend meetings or leave on visits or trips.

He was there to admit Monica into the office late in the evening . He also saw much of the corruption in other areas of the Clinton operation.

Among all of the violence of Afghanistan there was a brilliant example of how the US might succeed. A brilliant strategy that reflected the realities of life in the tribal areas was outlined in Maj Gant's paper suggesting a major shift in US strategy in the tribal areas.

Instead of living in large camps surrounded by barbed wire and barricades Gant proposed that small teams should deploy to the villages and live with the tribes. They would provide arms and training to the locals but instead of retreating into the setting sun they would live with the villagers.

The concept was working spectacularly in the valley but Gant posed multiple threats to Big Army. His going native in both grooming and clothing was a direct affront to the palace princes. Worse yet Gant had become involved with a New York Times reporter and she was right their living with him.

Having gone native, brought a female to the remote village and adopted the grooming standards of the natives and abandoned the procedures so beloved by the Army, even for the Rangers.

No amount of success in the war would overcome the threat to Good Order and Discipline and Gant's career was ended . In the meantime he and the reporter had married and were struggling to build a life while he struggled with PTSD .

A great read, highly recommended.

The narration is excellent , the stories amazing and well told, informative and interesting .

Highly recommended . One of his best books from a highly respected fighter pilot and author.
