Historia
When a daring, high-tech CIA operation goes wrong and is disavowed, Michael Dunne sets out for revenge. CIA operations officer Michael Dunne is tasked with infiltrating an Italian news organization that smells like a front for an enemy intelligence service. Headed by an American journalist, the self-styled bandits run a cyber operation unlike anything the CIA has seen before. Fast, slick, and indiscriminate, the group steals secrets from everywhere and anyone, and exploits them in ways the CIA can neither understand nor stop.

Revisado: 11-16-23
Storyline seemed intriguing, but the reader absolutely put me to sleep mentally. I listened for two hours, and after that realized I had no idea what was going on because the reader just didn’t keep my interest.

Historia
South Texas, 1854. Regis Royle is determined to turn eighteen-thousand acres of raw prairie into the greatest cattle ranch in the world. But he can’t do it alone. The region is wilder than a herd of mustangs—and crawling with rustlers. Teaming up with the Cattlemen’s Justice Consortium, Regis hopes to stop the rustling and start laying tracks for a new railway. Problem is, the cattlemen—including Jarvis “Bone” McGraw, Regis’s own ranch manager—can’t help but lock horns with the Texas Rangers. And it doesn’t take long for this brewing pot of very bad blood to get a whole lot worse.

Rambling storyline with too many extraneous bits of information
Revisado: 11-03-23
Way too much extraneous and uninteresting information that bogged down the story. Listened to hours before admitting that I really didn’t care if I finished it.

Very graphic violence and dark
Revisado: 08-10-23
Way too dark, gruesome , and graphic violence. Patterson is a good storyteller, but it doesn’t have to be this dark and gruesome to make a good story. Wish I had not finished it.

Historia
For those who could read between the lines, the censored news out of China was terrifying. But the president insisted there was nothing to worry about. Fortunately, we are still a nation of skeptics. Fortunately, there are those among us who study pandemics and are willing to look unflinchingly at worst-case scenarios. Michael Lewis’ taut and brilliant nonfiction thriller pits a band of medical visionaries against the wall of ignorance that was the official response of the Trump administration to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Excellent story of the US pandemic strategy
Revisado: 04-06-23
Very informative concerning the downgrading of the CDC’s usefulness and political independence regarding public health. Good stories of unsung American heroes who stepped in to help steer the pandemic help. Doesn’t bode well for future pandemics considering the lack of federal policies and structures.

Historia
From Louisa May Alcott's beloved classic Little Women, Geraldine Brooks has animated the character of the absent father, March, and crafted a story "filled with the ache of love and marriage and with the power of war upon the mind and heart of one unforgettable man" (Sue Monk Kidd). With "pitch-perfect writing" (USA Today), Brooks follows March as he leaves behind his family to aid the Union cause in the Civil War. His experiences will utterly change his marriage and challenge his most ardently held beliefs.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Interesting and unique story
Revisado: 03-29-23
Loved the uniqueness and creativity in the stories and characters. Was sorry that the author seems to only have been exposed to the negative expressions of religious people. Hopefully she meets some grace-filled spiritual people.
