Historia
Although Sarah Grayson is often tending to the contained chaos of her delightful secondhand store in North Harbor, Maine, plus dealing with the quirky personality of her rescue cat, Elvis, she still takes an occasional night off. But her evening out comes to an abrupt end when Sarah discovers Stella Hall, a member of the library board, standing over a body in the street.

Not Narrated by Marguerite Gavin
Revisado: 07-14-22
I’m sure Rachel L. Jacobs is a very good narrator, unfortunately her narration of this book after Marguerite Gavin did the first 8 books, was a total miss.
I would suggest that if another narrator is used in an established series the editor should work with the new narrator to ensure that at a minimum age appropriate voices are used in performing the voices for the characters.
I decided to pre-order this book before the narrator was was listed as it’s an established series and there was no sample to listen to, I won’t be doing this again.
RE the book: I had a hard time following the story plot as I spent most my listening time trying to figure out who was supposed to be speaking. The Charlotte’s Angels crew sounded like Sarah and her crew, so it was hard to follow and very distracting.
I gave up after several tries at listening and decided to return the audio and read the book.

Finally the first four books
Revisado: 06-05-20
Thank-you, I’ve been waiting for the first four books in this series for...wow 8 years. Please don’t wait that long for the other three that are missing.
This is a great mystery series in the voice of Jane Austen, who knew Jane was such a sleuth! Stephanie Barron has brought Jane to life with all of the manners and observations that are hallmarks if her wonderful novels, but with a twist, Jane as detective or rather a “deducer”, like Sherlock Holmes but in the Regency period. I didn’t think I’d like these books as I usually don’t like historic figures taking center stage in fiction, but these books reeled me in from the first one I listened to (Jane and the Stillroom Maid). As a bonus Kate Reading is the narrator of these books, so that is a huge bonus.
If you like Jane Austen and mysteries you’ll enjoy this series.

Historia
Former lawyer Nicole Fitzhenry-Dawes thinks she'd be happy to spend her life making maple syrup and never take part in another murder investigation again. At least, she thinks so right up until the photographer she hired dies on the tour she's leading, and the main suspect is her friend's niece, Holly. When Holly disappears as well, Nicole faces what looks like a locked-room mystery. One of the people on the tour must have committed the crime, yet none of them could have done it.

So many more books in the series
Revisado: 04-14-20
These books are one of my favorite cozy mysteries, Nicole is conflicted by her education as a lawyer and her inheritances of a Sugar Bush from a beloved uncle. I really enjoy reading about the history and process of making maple syrup. These are fun books that get better the more I listen to them. But there are many more in the series.
Please, please, please bring the rest of the books (numbers 5-13) in this wonderful series to Audible. It’s really a let down when a series is only partially brought to Audible and then for some reason the remaining books are only available in paperback or ebook format. Many folks depend on Audible for their reading experiences. Thanks
