Here was a plot conceived and implemented, sometimes at taxpayer expense, by US Congressmen and Senators, then covered up by a president. Brilliantly researched, written and narrated. Meticulous, compelling evidence supports every fact and event. Rachel Maddow is a wonder.

Best Narration Ever

A classic noir, not for modern feminist sensibilities, but what characters, what a story. Best was William Dufris' exceptional performance of each character. Listening was more than evocative, it was being in the room. You could smell the cigarette smoke, the sweat.

The Mind and Philosophy of Steve Bannon Revealed

An excellent and well-narrated study of the philosophy called Traditionalism, which objects to modernity and advocates a return to some imagined, prior, utopian past where spirituality, nationalism, dictated gender roles and tacit racism govern separate, insular, sovereign nation-states. Reveals how this pholosophy influenced Bannon's alt-right political views. The trouble with the belief system is that modern society must first be destroyed before the "correct" spiritual enlightment is achieved. Explains much about the Bannon zeitgeist.

I have listened to many books about Russia and Putin; this one is by far the best. Factual, deeply insightful, a clear look at Putin without political spin. Yet it is Impossible to deny the threat to Western democracies Putin represents. Excellent narration.

James Lee Burke and Will Patton Belong Together

Nothing can beat James Lee Burke's deeply evocative writing and character depth. Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcell are violently flawed yet we want to love them. Burke weaves contemporary society's fissures into his story through character introspection without becoming political. We are flung from awesome natural beauty into terrible violence. Match Burke with Will Patton's vocal skill and the book soars.
