to be honest kind of mid!

to be completely up front and honest. I haven't finished the book yet but I'd say I'm about 95% done I've got about an hour and a half left so I wouldn't call this a complete review as last second twist and turns are a thing.

The issues I have with this book are fundamental in nature. the world building is almost non-existent and the inner system mechanics are not explained at all thus, you have no actual content for what the MC is doing. these two things taken together means the story does not have a lot of narrative weight for me. there's no sense of import or impact to anything the character has done so far. it comes off as b*********** his way through the run, which I Guess is part of the point when there's no driving force behind a narrative it gives me as the reader less to hold on to when you can bind that with the third problem of the MC being generally unlikable because truth be told, he's a bit of a selfish dick and his man reasoning/ justification for being so is that he is ancient and has seen it all That's not to say I don't like the story I do. it just needs more embellishment to give the world a sense of weight and to give us in general something to care about in general and this is a really long review already but given the problems it has as cultivation saga and book in general. it's fairly mid for me. the main reason I'm giving it four stars is because the concept of treating cultivation like a gamer speedrun is really interesting but I think in the context of making it a speed run, the author forgot to balance the world with his concept. if that makes sense

I won't lie. originally this series came across as a copycat to me of my hero . however, I recant my previous statement. I love the directions, the story is going and the character development is very well done . I can't wait for more

this book has great progress , and it's on track to diverge from being a my hero clone into something more unique . so it's great to see the authors creativity in the direction of his story . it alleviates my original concern over originality , but I am pleased to see more of the author's own thoughts in his writing.

the way they went about the overall plot with a little hazy.. I mean I get what they're trying to do with the whole mystery thing but to me it just made the book go slow

an interesting way to tell a cultivation story or rides to riches I suppose. however, you want to look at it. The character development is great . and I can't wait to see where the journey goes

though the story can come across a little like high school in some points. and still interesting. and as a big fan of swordplay I really like this kind of thing.

overall, it's a very good story. My only two negatives, and they're extremely minor is the actual time travel with a little slow to start. start it took about 2 or 3 hours for him to actually time travel. thus the rest of the story didn't get as much time. and a slight pronunciation issue with the narrator not enough for me to knock down stars however
