Cliché and sexist to the max
Revisado: 09-27-22
I started this a few weeks ago, and quit. I started it over because I figured I had been hasty and maybe just in a touchy mood.
Nope! I just can’t do private eye cliché. If you can, wee, this one’s for you kid.

Swell listen, l need another with the same characters.
Revisado: 07-13-22
I listen while I work. I have a pretty redundant job, it’s rare for me to tear up laugh or cheer while I listen, but I did all three on this one.
I’m not a legal, financial, or car person, and l don’t live in any of the places described, but l loved them as Cap loved them.
I recommend this book to anyone who has collected places and people for the pure love of serving and building up friends and family.
It’s good to be full of grace.

Accent for Alaska?
Revisado: 04-07-22
Story was pretty good for a who done it.
I couldn’t help chuckling at the hotel owners accent. He sounded like a Tennessee hick! Not an Alaskan native.

It may be that my American upbringing is biased
Revisado: 03-31-22
Jenna seams juvenile and not well connected for an experienced detective. Her sister is even less of a self sufficient adult, let alone resourceful woman. Continual references to their mother adds to this impression.
Weak women and friendless circles make this story lack not interesting. I couldn’t finish it.

Overall good worth the read
Revisado: 02-22-22
Kept my interest, however, I needed more details about how us born people were segregated biologically. Also, why no children? Even immigrants have children? Was it due to kids immunization requirements or something that develops later in life that gives children of all humans a weakness like knee caps or something? Also why was CrossFit not killed? I need another book please.

She lives above a small rail station, which she cleans in order to earn her keep. When Noa discovers a boxcar containing dozens of Jewish infants bound for a concentration camp, she is reminded of the child that was taken from her. Historic, action, and strong women
Revisado: 01-18-22
I enjoyed this book very much. The circus in the big top! Described to its tattered perfection of dusty travel, the trains and parade.
The nazi’s and war, conflict within families!
Listen to it! You won’t regret it.
The performance is done well. Noticed a speech pattern in Noah’s portrayer that I found a little annoying. Overall it was not much of a distraction.
My only criticism is that Astrid is described as tall and stately at the beginning, and then petite at the end.
I think she needed to be tall for those years. 5’7 but that’s just me.

Immigration and deceit
Revisado: 09-28-21
Very compelling story with roots to all of us. Coming to North America is dangerous and hard; Always has been. Expensive and risky. The lives in this story are heartbreaking. The only criticism I have is that the impact of globalization and immigration wasn’t touched on as much as the political hot button of borders and citizenship.

It was one hell of an inheritance for former Chicago reporter Tom Coleman: a broken-down pickup truck, ramshackle campground, a canoe livery - and one pot-smoking, barely working employee he doesn’t need, doesn’t want, and can’t afford. But the truth is, after losing a child and a marriage, Tom doesn’t really care.

Like that this isn’t sexually explicit in any way, but is still a target audience of adults. Every character is developed with damage and recent personal grief. Narrator is a bit choppy though.

Expect explicitly descriptive sex
Revisado: 08-11-21
Good story, but some things were unrealistic like how mentally ill dysfunctional characters support themselves. Educated themselves a d traveled the world.
Also a good deal of time was spent describing sex. Kinda too much for me.

Too much repeat of book 1
Revisado: 04-12-21
I liked book one and anticipated the same rush of new peril and survive mode action. It lacked any of the intelligence about the viral change or mutations. It also lacked in length and in substance. I won’t be paying to listen to book 3.
