Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

I cannot say enough about this book - it is an incredible story with an amazing narrator! If I could only recommend one audio book to someone, this would be it!

Any additional comments?
I thought this was a very cute, light-hearted story with some laugh out loud dialog. If you are looking for something fun in the chick lit department, this book is perfect. The narrator didn't drive me nuts like she did others, but she did pause a lot. Don't let that sway your decision - it is still a great listen.

Cute Story, Bad Audio
Revisado: 12-06-11
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It is worth the time, but the issue is not only is the audio talent less than spectacular, the audio quality is really bad at times. The narrator sounded like she was under water at times.
The story was fun and entertaining. I will buy the next book, simply because I like the character.
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator spoke much too quickly a lot of the time. Her voice was a bit annoying, but I didn't mind it as much as some of the reviewers. My main complaint is the quality of the audio - I have listened to hundreds of books and never heard this type of problem. I am starting book two and found that it has the same issue.
Was Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye worth the listening time?
Yes.

Completely different and very entertaining

I really enjoyed this book, because it was so well written and the characters were so well developed. This is a story of someone who has a very hard life, but keeps moving forward and surviving, in spite of continual challenges.

Light-hearted fun
Revisado: 08-30-11
I liked this book so much I walked around with my iPod on until I finished it. It is a feel-good story about a clever girl who doesn't bend to conform with the expectations of her family and some how stubles on a huge opportunity to be the matchmaker for a big sports agent. There is nothing intellectual about this book, but if you are looking for some light-hearted, fun chick lit - this is a good book for you!

Great story!
Revisado: 08-30-11
I really liked this book. It was interesting, because it was largely set in Africa, so it made you think about what it would like to try to do business in different parts of that country. I love stories about incredibly smart, strong, capable women, which is one reason I really liked this story. It also had an interesting element of espionage and secret underground dealings.

Historia
Jane Darlington is a genius at physics, but there's one problem she can't solve. She yearns for a child, but wants to spare it the pain of growing up as...well, a nerd. And surely any child of Jane's would be a little too brainy for the playground set. So she sets out to find a special man to father her child, someone without too much gray-matter between his ears: in short, a big, strong dope. Cal Bonner, legendary pro quarterback, seems to fit the bill. But there's something Dr. Jane hasn't counted on.

Disappointing
Revisado: 08-30-11
I read and really liked three other books by this author, but this one was not good. This book was pretty much the same story line as This Heart of Mine, except with a poor story line and very unlikely conflict elements. If you want to read good books by this author, I would recommend sticking to Natural Born Charmer or Match Me if You Can - much better stories and characters. I do like the way that the same characters keep showing up in other stories though, so if you want to know the whole sequence of events, this will give you a little back story on Kevin Tucker.
