More than Like

I rarely listen to romance stories anymore but occasionally I just want a fun, entertaining read. This story - is so much more than that, and is more than five stars. 10 stars for overall. 10 stars for performance! Beyond perfection for both voices. Outstanding. And 10 stars for the story. Once upon a time, Lavyrle Spencer weaved romantic, yet real-life tales across many historical settings. I’ve never read anyone else who comes close to engrossing a reader with such deeply defined characters and authentic life challenges - whatever they may be. This story left nothing out. It hit absolutely every mark. Poignant, hilarious. yet brilliantly sweet and romantic, despite the real life traumas and dramas felt by these characters. I didn’t even realize this story was connected to others until the credits. This is a stunningly gifted writer. Just for the Summer is the pinnacle of the genre - and only enhanced by the performers. Well done.

Classic Roberts - Phenom LaVoy

I haven’t finished this yet, but I just have to say- LaVoy is the best female performer out there. So good. And this seems to be the kind of Roberts stories I used to enjoy so much!

I spent a credit on this. I’m unfamiliar with the series. So IMAGINE MY SURPRISE when the book ended at 2 hours in. I would never spend a credit on 2 hours. Yes, it’s my fault for failing to notice it’s not a normal book length, but I submit that should have been made clearer. The story is fine, but since I never read any other books centering on this heroine I’m pretty turned off at this point.

I see lots of complaints about the back and forth messaging in the story. I’m not personally having any trouble following it, but I can appreciate it might be difficult for those who rarely log into social media. You kind of just have to settle into the mental picture of the communication threads. That’s what I did. It’s realistic to the brutality of online harassment and a good, realistic modern day story. I’m not finished yet but I will stretch the 32 audio hours out as long as I can. I love these characters and I LOVE the performances of the character voices. Always 5 stars for Cormoran and Robin from me.

Six out of five stars for Sierra Six

A satisfying look back into Court’s assignment as Sierra Six. It’s a current and past parallel style story, perfectly executed. The only complaint is that it had to end.

Mark Knows his International Intrigue

I look forward to the latest installation of Courtland Gentry each February. I savor the story and try not to binge the audio version because I know it’s going to be another year in the making. Mark I think you read most reviews... You, Jay, and Sierra Six will only ever get 5 stars from me. Next time though, I humbly request more of Court and less of the bad guy character development. I get some is needed for these international geopolitical storylines - but less is more —of them. More is more, when it comes to Court and friends. Enjoyed this book as always. Love inclusion of Hightower and Zoya as well. Here’s looking to February 2022! :)
