I really enjoyed the book and the narration. Really looking. Forward to the next one. Interesting characters and a story that is enjoyable to listen too.

This was 2 mysteries in one that ended up being 3 mysteries in the end and I really enjoyed the story but was justice really served in all 3 cases? I’m on the fence with one outcome. Great book for a book club because this book calls for discussion!

Don't listen to it if you are from Louisiana

I was so irritated by the poorly used Louisiana stereotyping that I could not enjoy the book. It is like the author Googled Louisiana tourism and then stuck the "things to do while in Louisiana" she found into the story. Well, we don't eat crawfish and gumbo every day, we surely do not have beignets for breakfast every day. We don't use each other's last names when we speak just to show we are cajuns. I could go on and on with examples of poorly placed Louisiana "customs" haphazardly thrown into this story.🙄

Confusing

The time line was so confusing. All the references to old movies only works if you have actually seen the movies and can relate. Just not quite sure what the author was going for....

Enjoyed all three books.

Not sure what the author was going for in the end. It is the kind of ending that you have to think about for awhile. In my opinion, there was no closure..... I agree with other reviews regarding the narrators, they should have stayed with the first one. Of the three, this one was the hardest too like due to her male voices being so awful.

Really enjoying this trilogy

I liked the first narrator's voice for the queen. This new narrator was great but I felt like she made the queen sound like an old lady. Did not ruin the story at all, just missed the first narrator a bit. Looking forward to the conclusion. Very interesting characters and great concept.

Very hard to finish .... weak story

The stoey was very weak. Many different characters were introduced with dead end story lines. Names were so familiar it was confusing as to who was who at some points. Was promised a strong female character, did not deliver. The main character spent much of her time whining and the strengths that were hinted at became non-existent in this "world". Forced myself to finish since I had paid too much for this story. The narrators were excellent but had weak material to work with.

Losing its magic

This series was fun when the main character was interacting with the other characters more and the crime story was weaved into her life. Now the crime story seems to be the main focus and the characters are Interacting less. Not as much fun as they used to be to read.

So hard to finish this book as I did not like the main character at all. He had no redeemable qualities, was a doormat for most of the book. Just wanted to slap the guy. Story was predictable. Lots of holes...

Fun but very predictable

I liked the characters but the storyline was rushed and there were so few characters that you know immediately who the villain is....the why was a bit of a surprise. A fun book to listen too.
