The women in this best friends to lovers story are interesting and well rounded. I found the history of their friendship compelling and the development of their romantic feelings engaging. The main setting is a cattle ranch so there’s just a bit of western feel to the story.
The narration by Tessa Stavers was perfect for this sweet romance.

I enjoyed listening to this story of interesting women who are stuck in a cycle of misunderstandings. Jamie, Nicole and their cohorts drew me into their story making me like them and hope for a happy ending to their story.
Hope Newhouse gives Jamie the perfect voice and has an engaging narrative style.

Good story but a disappointing recording.

I didn’t finish the book even though I tried several times. The story is engaging. The recording quality is good. I listened to about three hours of the book but the narration was distracting and difficult to listen to. In 25 years of being an avid audiobook reader I have rarely left a book unfinished but this book, unfortunately, made that short list.

Exceptional! Destined to be an all time favorite!

O.E. Tearmann has written a terrific story. The story is strong, genuine and never falters not even for a moment. Commander Aidan Headly captures your attention immediately and your heart soon after. Trying to reunite a group of broken and battered crew while keeping himself together is a challenge he’s not sure he’s prepared for. This dystopian sci-fi romance is peppered with 1980s music references while the characters - queer, trans, gay, lesbian, damaged, traumatized, straight - are just plain humans finding faith in themselves, trust in each other while fighting for freedom for all.
Kurt Graves’ narration of the audiobook is perfect.

During the first half of the book I thought this was just another teen magic school story but it developed engaging characters in interesting situations. The handling of the back stories was smoothly done and added clarity to the plot. The writing style, language and thought patterns are appropriate for younger readers.
-The narration performance is fine overall. There were a few occasions where we’re magically transported into the story but much of the time I was aware of being read the story.
-The quality of the recording is good but in a few places there were some very obvious and poorly edited corrections to the script.
