Historia
Following the events of Scorpia Rising, Alex relocates to San Francisco as he slowly recovers from the tragic death of his best friend and caregiver, Jack Starbright, at the hands of terrorists working for SCORPIA. With Jack gone, Alex feels lost and alone, but then, out of the blue, he receives a cryptic email - just three words long, but enough to make Alex believe that Jack may be alive. Armed with this shred of hope, Alex boards a flight bound for Egypt and embarks on a dubious quest to track Jack down.

A bit predictable, but thrilling all the same
Revisado: 07-19-22
I'm so glad Anthony Horowitz decided years after finishing this series to pick it back up again, and that Simon Prebble was able to narrate. He captures the voices and characters as impeccably as ever. It is a tad on the slow side as compared to the previous books but bumping the speed up to 1.25 took care of that nicely. Alex still relies a bit too much on luck for my taste (which is acknowledged but not changed) and everything falls into place so often it's no longer a surprise since relying on luck has seemed to be the overall strategy in every book. I'm not sure if it's just gotten old or if his unnatural luck is relied on even more in this one, but it was extremely apparent. That being said, whenever luck doesn't pull through it's exciting to see what brilliant plan Alex devises this time!

Immediate results
Revisado: 07-18-22
Great tips and insights that, when applied, show immediate results. I'm as night owl as can be and for the first time in my life am consistently waking up at 7. Not only am I enjoying the newfound me time, I'm excited (albeit groggy) when I hear my phone go off in the next room each morning Thank you Amy! You've done what no one could and helped me decide that I am a morning person after all!

Can't stop listening
Revisado: 10-26-21
Four books to go and I'm already dreading the end. Such gripping adventures, surprises and twists all around. Relatable characters, realistic plots no matter how impossible and exciting Alex's newest dilemma. Wonderful narration that captures each different personality and even accents, so the person speaking is recognizable even before they're identified. It's been a pleasure, and I'm off to experience the next book.
