Glad I was introduced to Ms. Brashear
Revisado: 04-05-18
I am new to the works of Jean Brashear. This book is a part of a series, but can be read/listened to as a stand alone. I have not read any of the previous books, but I was able to get immediately into the story without any problems. Looks like I am going to be going back to catch up on the previous books. We get to learn about many of the couples from the previous books and this made me want to go back and learn their full story.
I enjoyed listening to this story. The narration was done nicely. Had a nice soothing voice and was easy to listen to.
The road to happiness has not been an easy one for Steph. She doesn't think love exists, especially not for her and she does not want that complication in her life. Her friends however, know what's best for Steph.... and damn them for being right!
Gavin is attracted to her Steph. He can't resist the challenge in making Steph his. He is determined to discover her softness that she hides. It doesn't matter to him that she's bound and determined keep her heart locked away. He will make her his, whether she likes it or not.
Sparks fly, tempers flare, snarkiness comes out and opposites attract. Steph fights her attraction to Gavin and does everything she can to resist to no avail. They have nothing in common. He's everything she never knew she wanted or needed. Gavin is patient, caring, yet determined to win Steph over.
Written as a multi pov. and does have an HEA.

Face your fear of the unknown
Revisado: 10-02-17
This was a great story. Mostly predictable, but still very entertaining. This story introduces us to Kara and Nate. Thanks to winning a cruise, Kara is ready for a much needed vacation. She never expects to find the man of her dreams while she is Aboard The Wishing Star. Nate is smitten with Kara from the very beginning. Kara is very timid, shy, and almost afraid of her own shadow. But thanks to Nate, we get to watch her come out of her shell and become a beautiful, semi-self confident woman. She learns to stand up for herself, learns it is okay to take risks, and opens her heart to the opportunity to love again.
Their journey is not an easy one. There is mystery, romance, and suspense throughout the story. We get the joy of watching Kara and Nate fall in love. Nate learns to be patient, while Kara learns to trust in herself. They are the perfect match for each other and destiny was looking out for them.
This had a strong story line, that was well written. The characters were so engaging and easy to fall in love with. The dialogue flowed nicely with the characters and was easy to follow. Great descriptions to details and it was easy to imagine being on the ship with them. All in all, a great listen. I wasn't sold on the Narrator at first, and it really took me a while to get into him. He sounded like he was forcing a husky voice. Written as a multi pov and does have an HEA.
All in all, a great listen/read.

A sweet Lil Story
Revisado: 09-20-17
How could the performance have been better?
I did not like the narrator. She did not sound young enough to be portraying the character. Her voice was too gravelly. I pictured the character to have a light voice with a southern accent.
Any additional comments?
This was a short listen that was entertaining. I enjoyed the story line. The characters were written nicely. Betsy was a bit flighty at times but I still enjoyed her.
Betsy is a shy librarian that gets the shock of her life when Nash walks into her library. Nash is a very handsome ex marine that has a chip on his shoulder and an eye patch that he doesn't think any woman can see past, but that is not the case with Betsy. She finds him fascinating and is even more intrigued with him when he comes to her rescue on multiple occasions.
Thanks to family drama that Betsy must deal with, his PTSD and lack of self confidence in himself, things get a bit tangled up. Throw a stalker into the mix, and you have a mini, action packed 4 hours of good listening time. Do I wish there had been more meat to the story? Yes, I always like lots of info, details, and dialogue. But, I will say, for such a short listen it had high entertainment value.
Written as a multi pov. This is a stand alone and does have a HEA.

A lol mystery
Revisado: 03-19-17
What did you love best about Retirement Homes Are Murder?
This had so many LOL moments.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
No, but it did make me wonder how in the world he could keep digging himself in deeper.
What does Jerry Sciarrio bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He brought the characters to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Would love to have, but it did make a great traveling companion. My husband and I both loved it.
Any additional comments?
It made my traveling go so much faster.
This reminded me of the movie 50 first dates but set as a murder mystery instead.
It was an engaging story, that had me cracking up throughout. You can't help but to fall in love with these old people. I hope to have as much fun as they do when I get to be there age.

I loved all three books in this series. I hope we get more...maybe with Colton's brothers. I become invested in this whole family and would love to see more of them. It had great story lines, awesome descriptions to details, fantastic characters and easy to engage in dialogue.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Loved seeing Charles getting taken down a notch or two and finally overcoming the family tragedy.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
I wish this had been read by 2 narrators. The portrayal of the male characters made them sound uneducated.
