With his perfect wife and perfect life. Why should he be allowed to keep everything I’ve been denied? Years have passed; they think they're safe. They think no one remembers. I received this audio book for free in exchange for a review.
Woohoo lol. I loved it! I was engaged from the first word to the last. So very well done that I started it over after it ended just to listen with foreknowledge.
It IS a story about hate AND revenge and it was SOdeserved. Twists and turns and suspense and then more twists. I never saw what was coming. The author has asked for no spoilers.
I will say this contains adult content for story purposes and not just for shock value.
I'll definitely be looking forward to more from this author.

Vaughn never asked for the powers of a long-forgotten moon goddess. But rarely do the gods give humans a choice when using them in their machinations. Now Vaughn is a Banebringer, loathed by all who discover his true identity - even his father, a man obsessed with his own power and bent on destroying Vaughn's miserable life. Vaughn is desperate to end his father before the madman ends him. But to do so, he'll need the skills of Ivana, a vindictive assassin with her own scores to settle.

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
Vaughn is a Banebringer. We enter this world not knowing much besides the face that when a Banebringer dies, a tear in reality opens and a bane monster comes through. In spite of this, people hate them SO much that things get out of hand and this happens often enough.
We first meet Vaughn whole he battle his FATHER, who is trying to kill him for being a "demon spawn"
We meet the assasin Sweet Blood aka Ivanna when Vaughn tries to hire her to kill his Father because he really can't.
What follows is an interesting journey as Sweet Blood turns Vaughn down and vows to kill him for finding out her alternative identity.
It really starts to get good at the end when we find out more and I will probably get the next book in the series. I would have preferred to have been dropped into this world knowing more, but it was a good journey.
Eric (narrator) did a great job. I was able to distinguish between all the characters and he conveyed emotions without overwhelming the authors intent. Well done for sure.

Historia
There are three ways up to Castle View from the town of Castle Rock: Route 117, Pleasant Road, and the Suicide Stairs. Every day in the summer of 1974, 12-year-old Gwendy Peterson has taken the stairs, which are held by strong (if time-rusted) iron bolts and zigzag up the cliffside. At the top of the stairs, Gwendy catches her breath and listens to the shouts of the kids on the playground. One day a stranger calls to Gwendy: "Hey, girl. Come on over here for a bit. We ought to palaver, you and me."

Brilliant!
Revisado: 12-12-15
The twists of "Gone Girl", the trippy alternate realities of PKD, and the body hopping chaos of Anne Rice's "Tales of the Body Theif and also a possible tragedy and or triumph of true love (True love of The Princess Pride sort).
Bravo!
Also, the author read narration is great as well.
I'm also listening to "The Stone Man" by this author which is good so far.

A military science fiction short story, with hints Larson, Sheckley, and Heinlein. Not bad if you're looking for something episodic and short in the genre. I'll probably check out the next one because the aliens seem to have a cruel sense of humor, and I dig that.

Revisado: 12-29-14
I received a free copy of this audiobook for an honest review.
The story doesn't waste time getting started as Jim accepts a very secret invitation from the Hacks Club to a relaxing remote retreat. However something sinister lurks in the woods. Is it supernatural? Is everyone going to die? Has the horrible past followed one of the authors into these woods?
Great pacing and suspense. It had a "Jason" feel to it, IMO.
The Narration was acceptable. I had no problems knowing who was who and he did a good job of fading into the background while presenting the story.

Cody Riggs and Marvin FTW!
Revisado: 07-24-14
Cody Riggs is an adult now and off on his own adventures with Marvin. He's a chip off the old block and Marvin is just as funny and mischievous as ever. We see a couple of old characters and lots of new aliens and "rings"... It ain't easy living in the shadow of Kyle Riggs, so it's kind of a coming of age story for Cody. Luckily he met Marvin as a child and knows how to deal with him.
I'm so happy to have this spin off. I always wondered what Marvin would be getting up to once Kyle went back to the farm. Give me more please!
