Kind of all over the place

The narrator wasn’t great. Spoke a little too slowly, like she was trying to be ultra precise. The story needs a ton of editing, to be honest. So much of it was just off pace and poorly developed.
Like the part where the MMC first visited the school. I was so confused about her purpose there. She just decided to go talk to the headmaster and he starts talking about someone named Liam. Me asking my phone: who the heck is Liam?
The FMC is the bodyguard and yet the headmaster is going on about two elementary school students who had a disagreement.
Spoiler alert here: I felt no push and pull, no sense of anticipation between the two main characters. I thought the part at the very beginning when she proves she’s strong enough to do the job- that could have been drawn out so beautifully, like he continues doubting her and then her anger builds and THEN she puts him on the floor. But no, he just says one thing, then she knocks her new boss down and then he’s like, “ok, guess you’re qualified to protect the most important person in my life.” I think a content editor would be great for this book because I love the bodyguard for his kid aspect of the story. Just needs a bit of refinement

Very cute story. The Christmas stuff was all amazing, and I adored the parents! I thought the FMC was portrayed as maybe a little too harsh to Max. She gave him zero grace and was very mean to him. Though she came around in the end

Heart-wrenching story.

I adored this story. Kandi Steiner broke my heart a million times in this book.
The male narrators were fantastic but I wasn’t a fan of the female narrator’s. Her voice was very breathy, and she adds an -uh to the end of so many words, usually at the end of a sentence. “I wasn’t sure what to doooo-uh.” “She flew away-uh.” It was very distracting.

Love LA Ferro!

Let me tell ya… LA Ferro really knows how to keep a girl interested! This book was full of mystery and intrigue, and the pacing was wonderful. The author revealed piece by piece of the full story, each delivered at the perfect time to keep you wanting more and more.

I was listening in my car and got home from work one night, only to sit in the car for an extra 30 minutes just to hear what was going to happen next. That’s the mark of a beautifully told story. You just can’t get enough!

And the spice? Well, in true LA Ferro fashion, each scene was described in vivid detail until you could picture yourself as a fly on the wall, watching each intimate moment in real time. Can’t wait for more from this fabulous author.

Fantastic writing

As with all AK Landow’s books, this one was brilliant! Her trademark wit shines through in every word. There were so many times I was laughing out loud.
The narration was perfect. I could picture Skylar and Lance the entire time. Loved it and can’t wait for more audiobooks from AK
