Historia
A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper and resonated in unimaginable ways. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

Powerful Noir
Revisado: 08-05-24
Finally listened to this following an itch for something noir. Had been meaning to for a few years now. Glad I did. Solid character development. Plenty of grit and many surprises, not in so much as the plot buy rather the juxtaposition of the humanity and lack thereof. Great story.

Couldn't Stand the Narration
Revisado: 12-05-23
Loved the first book. Can't stand this one. Narration feels like a cheap 80's tabloid reading. It's a shame because I paid for it expecting it to be as good as book 1.

Historia
The prequel to Dracula, inspired by notes and texts left behind by the author of the classic novel, Dracul is a supernatural thriller that reveals not only Dracula's true origins but Bram Stoker's - and the tale of the enigmatic woman who connects them. It is 1868, and a 21-year-old Bram Stoker waits in a desolate tower to face an indescribable evil. Armed only with crucifixes, holy water, and a rifle, he prays to survive a single night, the longest of his life. Desperate to record what he has witnessed, Bram scribbles down the events that led him here....

Splendid Addition
Revisado: 11-05-23
Well thought out and canonically appropriate adaptation of the often speculative story of Bram Stoker's original design. The narration was 9/10 with room only for improvement on the occasional droll presentation of Bram's character. The story was splendid though the odd transition towards the end from the traditional journal entry format was jarring. It felt like the sections were added as if to piece together an otherwise seamless story and methodology of presentation. It's odd but not entirely unbearable. Over-all a great listen.

Horrible Narration
Revisado: 09-06-23
It's cringe-worthy. The consistent mispronunciation is like nails on the chalkboard. The tone and inflection is also very poor.

Pretty Boring
Revisado: 11-22-22
cliche filled script with b rated voicing. the plot was so thin it couldn't hold up the even thinner voice acting (or overacting as it were for the main guy)
