Historia
"Sometimes I want to spend hours talking with my best friends about boys and fashion and school and life. I want to go to the gym; I want my hair to look nice; I want to be allowed to wear jeans. I want to be a normal young woman living in America, sometimes. But I want other things more. All the time. I want to be spiritually and emotionally filled every day. I want to be loved and cuddled by a hundred children and never go a day without laughing.

An inspiring, true story that begs to be read
Revisado: 08-27-18
Kisses from Katie encouraged my heart. My thanks go to Katie, her husband, her beautiful children, and their many supporters (prayer and financial) for being "neighbors" to so many around you. May God continue to bless His work in and through you all and may many more come to accept Jesus as Savior because of your faithfulness. I recommend this book. May Jesus come quickly!

Historia
At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

The Hiding Place is a MUST READ for EVERYONE!
Revisado: 08-18-18
The Hiding Place is an autobiography that was written by one of my heroines of all times! Corrie was a humble, honest, REAL woman who, along with many in her family, gave up her comfort, her security and her FREEDOM, to help the helpless, endangered Jews, during WW2.
She doesn't make herself out to be a remarkable woman, but a woman who struggled with some not so proud thoughts and actions during her life. She could have skipped that part of her story, as they were her "hidden sins", that we would never have known, otherwise, but her transparency touches my heart, deeply.
I read this story when I was a teenager and have admired Corrie for so long. I just listened to this audible edition of her heart felt story and highly recommend it. Corrie is one of my heroines in the faith. If you haven't read or listened to this story, don't wait another day.
Oh to live with Jesus' example as my constant, so I will make a difference in this hurting world, like the Ten Boom family did!

Historia
Nabeel Qureshi describes his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity, complete with friendships, investigations, and supernatural dreams along the way. Providing an intimate window into a loving Muslim home, Qureshi shares how he developed a passion for Islam before discovering, almost against his will, evidence that Jesus rose from the dead and claimed to be God. Unable to deny the arguments but not wanting to deny his family, Qureshi's inner turmoil will challenge Christians and Muslims alike.

POWERFUL, true story - I am thankful I WILL meet Nabeel someday!
Revisado: 08-13-18
I have recommended this book to so many of my friends. Through this book, I fell in love with Nabeel and his family, and continue to pray for Michelle and his daughter. I pray, too, for his sister and his parents, that God will reveal Himself to them, as well, and that they will accept Jesus' invitation, as Nabeel did. Nabeel laid up his treasures in heaven and I have no doubt he heard "Well done, though good and faithful servant," when he passed away. His ministry continues through the words he penned. May many come to Jesus through Nabeel's testimony and the words he penned so long ago. To Nabeel's parents, you reared a stellar son & poured your lives and love into him. You have reason to be proud of him. He lived kindly and lovingly, living his life with others in mind. Thank-you for being amazing parents and teaching him well. To Michelle, thanks for continuing your walk of faith and trusting God during the sorrow. May He bless you and your daughter with joy and peace. xx I wholeheartedly recommend this book!

Historia
Sabahat, a beautiful young Muslim woman, is known in her family for her intelligence, drive, and stubbornness. She believes there is more in store for her life than a good marriage and convinces her parents to let her pursue her education, rare for young Turkish women in the 1920s. But no one - least of all Sabahat herself - expects that in the course of her studies she will fall for a handsome Armenian student named Aram.

I really got into this story! Now for "Joy" to be translated into English!
Revisado: 07-17-18
I would rate this book as PG - 13 (or older!), because there were a few parts that were a bit racy. Most of the book is appropriate for any age, if it is being read aloud and the parent is good at editing as they read. The last chapter makes me believe this book is based on real lives, which I somehow hadn't realized. If you like books rich in culture, family dynamics, love, hope, tragedy, and flawed, but beautiful, people, I highly recommend this book. Thanks for writing this, Ayse!
