"Ok" book. Spears was irrational and annoying throughout. I don't understand why female characters have to depicted as creatures singularly driven by shear emotion.

After multiple purchases of thrillers that turned out to be dramas, this hit the mark. I was pleasantly surprised by the malevolent force...thank you for not making this some kind of sloppy alien movie ripoff. I think I would have choked if there was an underground spaceship. I sure hope there is another book after this :)

Narrated well but...

I had been eagerly awaiting the third book in this series and am actually a bit disappointed. The alien angle did not do it for me at all - also, Koku sudden shift in vernacular was off-putting.

Great find!!

Scott was kind of annoying at times. I had trouble remembering he was a grown man with some of the childish/bratty nuances he seemed to possess at times. Still, this series was a solid read. I thought things were going to get off course with the Albertian group but there was the right amount here and there. I really enjoyed all of the books. Great plot twist with the other little "menaces" too!

Good story - awful narration

I did not think I was going to like it, once I realized where the storyline was headed however, I actually got pretty into it. I had moments while listening at home alone working or at night in my office, that I have experienced a few jumps. Unfortunately, I absolutely HATED the narration. There was a time in the reading where cho-ppy-it-ter-a-tion-was-nee-ded but it occurred throughout the entire thing. I found myself actually angry because of the lack of flow in the narrator's voice. Also, there were several occasions where I could hear his stomach gurgle-not the hungry sound-the inside-out belch after you have long been satiated. The narrator was able to pull off Beth's creepy itterations of lunacy though. Moving on.

Great for werewolf fans...

I try to only read the author's summary and not too many reviews by readers because I don't want to accidently come across a spoiler, lol. Still I am not a werewolf or vampire fan by any stretch of the imagination so had I known that this was a werewolf book, I wouldn't have listened....STILL, this was a very well-thought book. It kept me interested so that I was compelled to finished the complete boxed set. I will likely go on to listen to book 4 just to finished what I started.

If you could sum up Ghosts: The Ghost Stories Of Noel Hynd, Book 1 in three words, what would they be?

Great paranormal story!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Osario was a wonderful character...multi-dimensional, unpredictable, funny but not overly silly.

What about Time Winters’s performance did you like?

I liked the fact that he did not overreach with his voice transitions between characters - his accent variations were awesome. I enjoy his narration because he didn't strain to make himself sound like a woman, for example. His variety of accents and tones made it easy to follow which character he was speaking for. I have experienced other audiobooks where the narrator insists on an ill-fated attempt at the voice of the opposite sex, but they also employ an accent which is just distracting, like a bad soundtrack.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This is the first true ghost story that I enjoyed. I have no idea about the factual existence of the Harvard Library collection or other points of reference discussed among the characters, but outside of the book, I don't care. I enjoyed how well-rounded everything was. It didn't fall together is a blah kind of way. Instead, there were enough tidbits sprinkled throughout the book to keep the reader engaged. The author did a wonderful job putting this story together so that to the reader, it made sense and felt as though it was something that has or could occur in reality. I am not a fantasy reader, so this definitely did the job for me. Bravo!

Getting more weird

So, the first book was pretty good and this one suggests that things are going to be taking a turn. I think this was a neat thing Patrick Logan did and I am hoping that Volume 3 will not be disappointing answer to the climax built up in this one. I definitely discourage reaching these out of order...the background in Volume 1 helps bring things together in a way that makes sense. It will clarify why this disaster had not visited man-kind sooner.

Surprised...

I did not think I was going to like this as much as I did - still I was happy with it overall. I really do not care for sci-fi at all and I think there was just enough to keep from going to that side of the aisle.
