Historia
Fishing was Mark Hume’s passion since he was a young boy, a lifeline through a childhood marked by his family’s frequent moves. When he became a father, he knew he wanted to pass on his love of water, fishing, and the natural world to his daughters. Most of all, he wanted to give them hope for their future. As soon as they were old enough, Mark taught his girls how to read the water and see the patterns in nature. He discovered that fly fishing and fatherhood require many of the same skills: patience, flexibility, and the knowledge of when to reel in and when to let go.

A Man's Love of His Family and Fishing
Revisado: 04-16-25
Eloquently written, with lovely prose. We follow the author discovering his love of fishing. The trials and tribulations of life. The importance of enviromentalism and it's effects on fishing and our day to day lives. Why it's so important for all of us to have a connection with nature. The narrator did a great job with the book. Highly recommend this!

Historia
If Truth Medici has learned anything, it’s that the country isn’t neatly divided into safe and dangerous zones. Everywhere is a battlefield and a hunting ground. Everyone is both predator and prey, slumrats on the run from bigger rats. Truth is finally one of the bigger rats, so elite that ordinary people can’t even see him. But though he may be a walking ghost, he’ll be acknowledged one way or another. Truth holds the power to slay the very oppressors who made him what he is. And he’s resolved to wield this power toward a righteous end.

Revisado: 08-27-24
Is there a lot of theological talk? Yes. Does it get mired down in it a bit? Also, yes. Is it still worth listening to? ABSOLUTELY. It's a fascinating world with very interesting characters. I'm looking for to the next installment!

Historia
Deborah Harkness first introduced the world to Diana Bishop, an Oxford scholar and witch, and vampire geneticist Matthew de Clermont in A Discovery of Witches. Drawn to each other despite long-standing taboos, these two otherworldly beings found themselves at the center of a battle for a lost, enchanted manuscript known as Ashmole 782. Since then, they have fallen in love, traveled to Elizabethan England, dissolved the Covenant between the three species, and awoken the dark powers within Diana’s family line.

So Disappointing
Revisado: 08-13-24
I loved the first three books. The fourth was a bit slow, but still enjoyable. Black Bird Oracle though... So disjointed. The whole time I kept thinking there would be some revelation, some way that all these oddly put together peices would make sense. and when the culmination came. Nothing. Or at least not very much. Diana apparently, is still a teenage girl with her lack of thought for her husband and children. Several things she does to her relationship, which last I checked was super solid, is now back on shaky ground, seemingly out of no where. And don't even get me started on the character assassination of Sarah! WTF!? And whats up with all the tea and herb porn?
The narrator did a great job. As she has always done in the past.
All in all. I think I may be done with this series. Unless of course it's another 6 years until the next book and I forget about this one...

Killing the sadistic warlord known as the Dog Tongue took everything Gus Berry had, including the woman he loved. Now, all he wants is to get away from the bloody scene of their final showdown. Though it’s littered with human carnage, the abandoned luxury hotel has a lot to offer a guy like Gus. Historia
New York Times bestselling author Jim Harrison (1937-2016) was a writer with a poet’s economy of style and trencherman’s appetites and ribald humor. In The Search for the Genuine, a collection of new and previously published essays, the giant of letters muses on everything from grouse hunting and fishing to Zen Buddhism and matters of the spirit, including reported pieces on Yellowstone and shark-tagging in the open ocean, commentary on writers from Bukowski to Neruda to Peter Matthiessen, and a heartbreaking essay on life on the US/Mexico border.

Entertaining and well written
Revisado: 05-16-23
i discovered James Lovegrove through his writing in the Firefly series. Once I listened to all those (if you like sci-fi I highly recommend them) I began on his Sherlock Holmes books. And what writing! All his stories have such a lovely cadence. You can tell he has a true affection for the source material, yet isn't afraid of expanding out and exploring his own ideas. This group of short stories is a wonderful addition to his already fantastic work. And the words! He has such a grasp of the English language. The narrator is also a credit to the field. Bravo to you both!!

Setting down his thoughts on swordplay, on winning, and on spirituality, legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi intended this modest work as a guide for his immediate disciples and future generations of samurai. He had little idea he was penning a masterpiece that would be eagerly devoured by people in all walks of life centuries after his death.

Wow! What a ride!!
Revisado: 03-11-22
Fast paced fun, thrilling and creepy. The plot had several turns I did not see coming. There was also interesting character development. Some parts were difficult to get through for emotional reasons and I'm sure that was all on purpose. The narrator was good, but not fantastic. I couldn't help but feel in several different parts how much better Ray Porter could have done. That said, it was competently executed, if not as fine and spit polished as Ray probably would have done. I truly hope it was just a work timing issue and not a falling out between Peter and Ray. But regardless I would whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone!

Wow! Just Wow!
Revisado: 02-12-20
This book covers a lot of ground in the overall story arc of the total series. A lot of answers to some very old questions are revealed as well. If you are this far along in the series I'm going to assume you enjoy Craig's writing style. Which while rambling sometimes, is funny and interesting. RC Bray knocks it out of the park as usual. Seriously, he's like a hit making machine. But the end. Holy crap the end! What a cliffhanger!! The suspense is terrible. I hope it lasts...
