My only issue with this book is there isn't another one (at the time of this review). Easily a series I will keep an eye on waiting for more, and probably listen to again in the meantime.

Another fun romp

Once again this take on the Sherlock Holmes characters made 8 hours fly by. Light, fun storytelling with enough little quirky twists to keep you coming back. And the narrator really does a great job voicing a cartoonish version of Holmes through Sherman. On to Book 3!

Not too silly, not too serious, just right.

Slept on this long enough for (at the time of this review) what is now a 3 book series. It has hints and themes of other books I really enjoy with a new spin on an established savant character. Like with any first book, I spent the first part trying to "get" what kind of story this was. Once the general idea was established I was all in. I jumped on the second book as soon as this one was finished. Super enjoyable, fun premise, great voice acting, and another can't-put-it-down story by Drew Hayes. If I could put another star on it I would.

The narration isn't BAD, it's just not appropriate for this book. The following two books in this series are much better narration-wise. No disrespect to Tom Allenby, He was given a bad assignment on this one.

I caught myself tuning in and out of this one. The different levels are VERY complicated and sometimes hard to imagine. But Carl and Donut are still out there doing Carl and Donut things. Which is why I’m here. And of course, that ending! Jumping into the next book asap.
