Historia
A fascinating account of the world’s most famous disease - polio - told as you have never heard it before. Epidemics of paralysis began to rage in the early 1900s, seemingly out of nowhere. Doctors, parents, and health officials were at a loss to explain why this formerly unheard-of disease began paralyzing so many children. Why did this disease start to become such a horrible problem during the late 1800s? Why did it affect children more often than adults? Why was it originally called teething paralysis by mothers and their doctors?

History unfolded truth about polio, not what you think!
Revisado: 11-02-24
It was sad to hear all the wrong assumptions on polio. Government wrongs and you think we would learn our history. The writer assumed we knew his point throughout the book but I wish he would have explained more how the polio wasn't the result of a virus as much as of the herbicides, lead, arsenic, and DDT. He did somewhat summarize at the end.

He was honest to tell us the bad and the good. But through it all his faith won out. Praying to God before he knew exacly who He was! What an overcomer with setback after setback in life and love. What he gives back to the world is truly amazing. The gift of sight! In the end not just success in his career but a balanced life of work and love of family and friends. I feel so inspired and want my children and grandkids to read this book.

Historia
As the American-born daughter of immigrants, Dr. Sunita Puri knew from a young age that the gulf between her parents' experiences and her own was impossible to bridge, save for two elements: medicine and spirituality. Interweaving evocative stories of Puri's family and the patients she cares for, That Good Night is a stunning meditation on impermanence and the role of medicine in helping us to live and die well, arming listeners with information that will transform how we communicate with our doctors about what matters most to us.

I loved her passionate care for others
Revisado: 09-22-23
Excellent book!! My husband and I, both retired Medical ins agent and him an RT at a large hospital in MN were intrigued by her struggles as palliative came on the scene. He was there too! What thoughtful compassion she has!! My RT husband said they were vital to care for the sick. Dr Sunita seems part doctor and psychiatrist and pastor. Then we remembered the passing of 3 of our parents since 2019. Losing one each year to 2021! We have our POLST done and ready!! We had our talk with our kids what we want should we not be able to speak for ourselves. The book brought all these to mind. I hope she got married and has a daughter just like her and her mother!!

Revelation was written because God wants us to know what the future holds. For Christians, the prophetic truths within provide wisdom, reassurance, and discernment - while for unbelievers, Revelation is a plea to receive God’s grace while there is still time. Best-selling author Amir Tsarfati examines what Revelation makes known about the end times and beyond.

Sincere but not in depth

I'm listening to another 37 week study on Revelation and this book pales to the other. Why not the study of all the number 7s here and how they relate. I do agree with his theology but struggled to get through the book.

Regular ladies with great insight
Revisado: 11-03-20
I enjoyed hearing about Diamond and Silk's lives in their early years and as young women. Their book is just like them! Real!! I loved hearing the back stories of truth and how they had to scrap their way for truths sake with GOP RINOS, fake media, Fox news, and lies of social media moguls and more. One day they'll make a movie of these two champians for America and how they supported their beloved President Trump. They should both run for office!

Historia
Black Americans have long been shackled to the Democrats. Seeing no viable alternative, they have watched liberal politicians take the Black vote for granted without pledging anything in return. In Blackout, Owens argues that this automatic allegiance is both illogical and unearned. She contends that the Democrat Party has a long history of racism and exposes the ideals that hinder the Black community’s ability to rise above poverty, live independent and successful lives, and be an active part of the American dream.
