Historia
Vanessa Michael Munroe, chameleon and information hunter, has a reputation for getting things done: dangerous and not quite legal things that have taken her undercover into some of the world’s deadliest places. Still healing from a Somali hijacking gone wrong and a brutal attack that left her near death, Munroe joins her lover, Miles Bradford, in Japan where he’s working as a security consultant protecting high-value technology from industrial espionage. In the domesticity of their routine she finds long sought-after peace.

She has done it again
Revisado: 07-21-15
The Mask is perhaps my second favorite next to The Informationist. The protagonist is so frustratingly good and she is her own best friend and worst enemy. Stevens books give me strength.

Historia
The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

14 is perhaps one of my favorite audible books out of the 300+ I own. I was excited to see another book was coming out and took a risk that it would be of a similar genre. If you enjoyed 14, and many of you did, you will enjoy this. 'Nuf said. I hope there is more to come. And great job to Mr. Porter nailed it.

With blood on her hands and a soul stained with guilt, Munroe has fled to Djibouti, Africa. There, with no responsibility except a gig at a small maritime security company, Munroe finds stillness—until she’s pressured to work as an armed guard on a ship bound for Kenya.

Historia
Twenty-eight florins a month is a huge price to pay for a man to stand between you and the Wild. Twenty-eight florins a month is nowhere near enough when a wyvern's jaws snap shut on your helmet in the hot stink of battle, and the beast starts to rip the head from your shoulders. But if standing and fighting is hard, leading a company of men - or worse, a company of mercenaries - against the smart, deadly creatures of the Wild is even harder. It takes all the advantages of birth, training, and the luck of the devil to do it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Red Knight?
Thing is there are plenty. But the narration is some of the best.
What does Matthew Wolf bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Revisado: 09-11-12
Would you listen to 14 again? Why?
Yes. Had a great time and it was refreshingly orginal.
What other book might you compare 14 to and why?
In orginallit, American Gods but more fun and somewhat lighthearted.
What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Sorry but the nerd voice. But I like nerds. Loved the torchwood reference!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I just spent a week touring the Baltic states and listened to this book as we sat on the bus. It was great. Wondered if there was a RUssian version of Cavendish House.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

fantastic
Revisado: 03-19-11
I have hundreds of read books, this is a favorite. I may require it for my summer reading class. The tale is imaginitive, prose rythmic and story engrossing. I must also compliment the narration in this case. I didn't realize that it was written as a young adult novel until I started to seek other novels by the same author. Anyway, not your usual WWII Nazi Germany story.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Once again it's midnight and I can't sleep, but then again I haven't slept since starting this audiobook. I own literally 100+ audiobooks in various formats and I bought this in hardcopy after listening to it. This and Lonesome Dove are the only ones. It is unique in it's concepts and defining in it genre. But, what is it genre since it crosses so many lines. It's like driving on a 8 lane freeway at 85 miles an hr. and weaving in and out of traffic and each car passed is has its own ...............
