Historia
Zeke Armstrong never imagined he'd be back in Vermont, but here he is, living in Colebury and trying to rehab an injury that could mean an early retirement from pro basketball. Running into his former classmate, Mallory Barrett, shouldn't be a distraction. It shouldn't mean anything, so why is he accidentally on purpose showing up at the coffee shop where the beautiful writer spends her time?

Potential not achieved
Revisado: 07-14-24
It starts okay, but the last half or maybe the last third are flat. It feels like a weak first draft rather than a finished project. Resolutions are weak, narration sounds routine and at least one major element drops in from nowhere. I kept thinking the writer didn’t make a deadline and they just published whatever there was.

Filled with breakneck action and authentic detail, Hermit's Peak is Michael McGarrity's most involving novel yet.

It’s a shame.

This audiobook fails on every level. Enough has been said about the reader and I hope this book did not ruin his career. The production value is poor. I had to max out volume in order to even hear the story. The musical interlude between chapters would blare out significantly louder than the narrative. Personally, I find that between chapter interludes soon become annoying if when they are well done. It is upsetting to realize that it is an abridged version, which damages the only thing the book had going for it, a good story. I honestly wish I had not wasted an audible credit on this book which ought to be significantly discounted. I only struggled through it for the sake of the series.
