Always a Bridesmaid by Erin Clark and Laura Lovely is a cute romance. I am a stickler for what I do and don't like when it comes to romance and, for the life of me, could not understand why this book has so much hate! I do agree that there isn't much romance or tension between the two, but not so little that it feels like another genre. I found that it had a lot of heart, backstory, and growth. I didn't appreciate Randi's whining about Zelda's wedding, as it has nothing to do with her, but it seems that was the only way these authors could find to tie this book to the first.
Andrew Eidenas Will is amazing! He has a very calming timber that is very enjoyable. However, I did not like Krystal Hammond as Randi due to the near constant whispering. I found myself tuning out more than I would have liked.

Not Another Christmas Rom Com by A. J. Pine was just okay to me. I found I didn't care about what happens between anyone. It was all too predictable with zero surprises and flat characters.
Andi Arndt as Molly and Teddy Hamilton as Liam were very enjoyable.

Everyone thinks my husband is dead. Just like we planned. Eleven years ago, my husband disappeared. Eleven long hard years I waited, my heart breaking for our son, who didn’t know his father was coming back. Today, my hands shake as I try to understand what I’ve just learned: my husband has a new wife. This wasn’t part of our plan. Eleven years ago, my husband made a terrible mistake. I sacrificed everything to help him fix it. But now he’s put our son and me in danger again. We had a plan. He broke the rules. But who will pay the price?

Revisado: 03-14-25
The Married Man by K.L. Slater did not meet my expectations, which was disappointing. I had sworn off Slater in 2022 but gave her another chance with Husbands and Wives, which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, this book serves as a reminder to stick with my initial decision: her stories are too predictable, offering very little payoff. I guessed nearly all the twists far too early, including the reveal of who Sammy is. The large cast of characters also lacks distinction, making them blend together. I found myself uninterested in clarifying who anyone was or understanding their motives.
Clare Corbett's narration is solid, but her performance couldn't overcome the challenge of distinguishing between characters, particularly Liv and Kait.

Technically Speaking by Michael Elliot is cute. I love how ASD is discussed freely and without shame for all involved—beautifully done!
I was not a fan of the music and transitional melodies; they felt very melodramatic and reminiscent of a soap opera. As for the mistaken identity, there were so many holes in that storyline that it became more distracting than entertaining, especially once the insta-love was added.
Coco Jones as Vee, Keith Powers as Troy, Queen Latifah, and the rest of the full cast made this audiobook enjoyable.

Historia
I just met my new son-in-law . . . And he’s my ex-husband. They’re here. I watch them arrive from the kitchen window. My pregnant daughter and her new husband. They’ve barely known each other six months. I greet him with a tight smile that he recognizes as fake. Luke is no good for my beautiful, fragile Cerys. He’ll break her heart. I know that because he broke mine — when he was married to me. I don’t know what he’s after. But I’m going to make it my business to find out.

The Son-in-Law by Jane E. James has a very interesting premise: a woman unknowingly marrying her former stepfather. However, I didn't like how it was executed; it could have been done much differently and had a better impact. I couldn't stand hearing from Cerys; she is too whiny and immature to take seriously or care for. As the story went on, it became more outrageous, and all but one "twist" was predictable. This is the third and final book I will read by Jane E. James.
Bethan Rose Young as Cerys was tiresome to listen to. Ffion Aynsley was amazing and the main reason why I kept on with the story.

Historia
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

The Grandmother by Jane E. James was extremely predictable. I knew every single twist well before each was revealed. It wasn't suspenseful nor entertaining. I rate it 2 stars since I was able to finish it.
Anna Cordell as the grandmother was preferred over Max Dinnen as the father.

Between Husbands and Wives by Susannah Glenn is not for me. It was truly so boring until the last two or three chapters, and even then, the story wasn't really shocking or twisty. I doubt I'll give Susannah another chance. I rate it 2 stars since I was able to finish it.
Sacha Horler is not a narrator I enjoy listening to. I think this added to my initial dislike of the story.

Revisado: 02-21-25
Her Second Husband by Jane E. James was not what I was expecting. After readjusting my expectations, I was able to get into the book. However, some decisions were illogical, and there was too much jumping to conclusions. Linda was weak for the entire novel, swearing off people and saying they're not trustworthy, only to go back on her opinion and say they're all she has. It was exhausting. Then, in the last couple of chapters, we are to believe she magically becomes a mastermind? Just, no. Also, I found myself wanting to know more information about Rosy, Abby, and Josh, but it seemed we were supposed to not care so much about them but rather how Linda copes with it all.
Claire Rushbrook is an okay narrator.

How to Lose a Guy Before Christmas by A.J. Pine is perfect! I literally cannot find a single thing I didn't like about it. Even the misunderstanding part was believable and realistic. I am so happy to have found this gem!
I also love that the sisters are named Lucy and Desi and their parents have a dog named after my favorite musician, Mariah Hairy 😂
Andi Arndt as Lucy and Jason Clarke as Eric both bring life to the characters and complement each other well.

Historia
When your eyes land on a complete stranger on the train, and the world around you stops. When the stranger says hello, and your heart stops, too. When the universe answers your prayers and he's there, next day, on the train. A man so powerful—brooding with darkness and secrets. I knew there was going to be more. I wanted more. When the stranger is reading one of your favorite novels, and you're reading one of his. When you think the universe can't be any kinder, but it truly delivers the jackpot of all jackpots and two opposite worlds collide, as though it was meant to be.

Hello Stranger by Jade West wasn't entirely for me, but Jackie’s character brought a lot of emotion to the story. Initially, I was set on giving it 2 stars, but Jackie's final speech was incredibly moving and bumped it up to 3 stars.
However, I found it frustrating that Logan's exact age was only revealed at the end (unless I missed it?). Constant references to "almost twice/half her age" were vague and distracting. A 19-year age gap is uncomfortable for me, especially when one character is only 22. It also felt like an insta-love story, which I despise. There were some unrealistic moments too (resuscitating someone in palliative care, her parents not being a part of her life even though she lived with them [aside to her mother having to tell her she's a woman - wtf?], Jackie never hearing anything, etc.) More transparency would have helped me decide if the story's premise was something I could accept and want to read.
Dan Calley and Ashford MacNab are very complementary of each other.
