Narrator leaves something to be desired....
Revisado: 04-15-24
I've enjoyed this series in paperback originally, Rachel Caine is one of my favourite authors. The Weather Wardens have always held a special place in my heart, so I was ecstatic to get these on audible! However.... the narrator is tone deaf and frequently reads passages with the wrong inflection according to the scene, so many words pronounced incorrectly you could make a game out of finding them. In short, I better stop listening to these, otherwise I may not like this series anymore and I find that incredibly unfortunate.

Story is awesome but needs new narrator
Revisado: 04-08-24
I read this series 15 years ago on paperback and I fell in love with the characters and the scenes and action. Rachel Caine is one of my favourite authors and definitely knows how to write to bring out the flair of drama. Unfortunately..... the narrator in this series is cutting me to pieces with her inability to pronounce simple words correctly or give much difference in between every other character either. While I do recommend this series, you may be better off getting a physical copy of them to enjoy instead of this.

Fantastic Story with Fantastic Actors
Revisado: 02-27-16
So, my favorite part of this story after reading it, was probably listening to the audio book. The audio made it soooo much more memorable too with the choice of actors they had. Natalie Dormer, James McAvoy, Sophie Okonedo, well, basically everyone!! They had a great feel for the story and how each character sounded and where the story was going - great choices!! Listening to this wasn't a chore at all, in fact, if you're bored or cleaning or whatever you're doing, I recommend listening to this; it'll take you out of your normal, boring and ordinary life as you travel the Underground with Richard and stalk with Mr. Vandemar or grow up courageously with Door.
