Historia
This provocative book details Beckwith's journey, focusing on his internal dialogue between the Protestant theology he embraced for most of his adult life and Catholicism. He seeks to explain what prompted his decision and offers theological reflection on whether one can be evangelical and Catholic, affirming his belief that one can be both.

Very in depth discussion on "Justification" which is the basic belief of Protestants in that Sola Fida or faith alone is all that is needed. Fine showing of how Protestantism is a spin off of Catholicism not the other way around and that orthodox Protestants and Catholics are closer in beliefs than not in that both believe in the trinity, faith, grace and so much more.

Historia
In 2007, Joseph Ratzinger published his first book as Pope Benedict XVI in order “to make known the figure and message of Jesus”. Now, the Pope focuses exclusively on the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ life as a child. The root of these stories is the experience of hope found in the birth of Jesus and the affirmations of surrender and service embodied in his parents, Joseph and Mary.

This was the best in depth accounting of the prodigal son I have ever read and heard equal to Saint John Paul the Great. Wonderful!

Historia
While St. Francis of Assisi is one of the most beloved saints in history, the relevancy of St. Francis for our times in light of the election of Pope Francis has yet to be explored. This book is written with the intention of filling that gap. While it is biographical in nature, it also freely explores themes that relate to St. Francis but are not a part of his life.

Historia
Teresa of Avila's Interior Castle is one of the most celebrated books ever written by a mystic on abiding in union with Christ. Writing in obedience to the requests of two of her superiors, the humble 16th century Spanish sister protests "...for the love of God, let me get on with my spinning and go to choir...like the other sisters...I am not meant for writing; I have neither the health nor the wits for it."

Glorious Saints
Revisado: 08-03-16
Keeping in mind this book was written in the late 1500's, I would consider this the still be relevant today in the need to and how to pray. The depiction of women is portrayed of the time it was written but the message of God our Father is timeless. Excellent audio reading.

Historia
Be inspired by saints like never before in My Life with the Saints by James Martin, SJ. This best-selling memoir of spiritual self-discovery is an homage to the saints who have accompanied Fr. Martin throughout his life. From a lukewarm childhood Catholicism, to the Wharton School of Business, to the executive fast track at General Electric, to the Jesuits, to a media career in Manhattan, Martin has relied on the saints to intervene in and guide his life.

A must read
Revisado: 07-30-16
This is another fantastic book by Father James Martin SJ, and is powerful in telling the stories of saints I had not heard about along with some I had. He brings home the reason why we get to know the saints and how each of us are potential saint and need to desire it. All of his books are wonderful and the beauty of his Jesuit training is woven throughout all his writing, including this book. A must read.

The Ignatian goal of "finding God in all things" eans that every part of our lives can lead us to God. The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything shows us how this is possible, with user-friendly examples, humorous stories and anecdotes from the heroic and inspiring lives of Jesuit saints and average priests and brothers, as well as examples from Martin's twenty years as a Jesuit. The traditional wisdom that Jesuits use to help other people in their daily lives is easily applied, but not often explained well to the general public.

Completely life changing
Revisado: 07-19-16
This book finally gave me the essence of Ignatius spirituality in a dynamic yet practical way. As a Catholic I was, so I thought, mature in my prayer and discernment, yet this book completely revamped and changed my spiritual direction and faith and, therefore prayer life. As a Protestant convert To Catholicism I was well schooled in the Bible but was constantly challenged by what they meant by having a "personal relationship with God." This book brings Saint Ignatius Spiritually to life and provides the reality of actually experiencing "a personal relationship with God" in a very real and dynamic and interactive way. This book in tandem with Saint Therese of Lisieux's Autobiography "The Story of a Soul" will literally be life changing, or rather, soul changing.

Absolute must read
Revisado: 07-14-16
Of the three great Divine Mercy Saints (Saints John Paul the Great, Saint Faustina, and Therese of Lisieux) it is impossible to consider one read better than the other. However, Saint Therese of Lisieux Autobiography can buoy the most desolate of souls and brings home how our own pride stands in the way of our holiness and fulfillment of God's Will. Beautifully narrated and makes you unable to stop listening.
