Historia
Twenty years ago, Bill Bryson went on a trip around Britain to discover and celebrate that green and pleasant land. The result was Notes from a Small Island, a true classic and one of the bestselling travel books ever written. Now he has traveled about Britain again, by bus and train and rental car and on foot, to see what has changed—and what hasn’t.

Wonderful! Typical Bryson!
Revisado: 11-19-18
The "writing" is excellent as always (God Bless Bill Bryson!), and the narrator - Nathan Osgood has a good voice, easy on the ear.

Historia
Something is wrong. We all know it. American life expectancy is declining for a third straight year. Birth rates are dropping. Nearly half of us think the other political party isn’t just wrong; they’re evil. We’re the richest country in history, but we’ve never been more pessimistic. What’s causing the despair? In Them, bestselling author and U.S. senator Ben Sasse argues that, contrary to conventional wisdom, our crisis isn’t really about politics. It’s that we’re so lonely we can’t see straight—and it bubbles out as anger. Local communities are collapsing.

Had much higher hopes
- De Brandon en 11-10-18
Fluff, doesn't really "say" anything.
Revisado: 11-14-18
The general tone is "everyone shares blame equally". Which is nonsense. Sasse fails to address the gorilla at the table. I.e. we have a president who is working for the Russian Federation, trying to undermine if not destroy the United States.
"THEM" is hackneyed lip service.

Historia
In the face of a president who lobs accusations without facts, evidence, or logic, truth tellers are under attack. Meanwhile, the world order is teetering on the brink. North Korea is on the verge of having a nuclear weapon that could reach all of the United States, Russians have mastered a new form of information warfare that undercuts democracy, and the role of China in the global community remains unclear.

Hayden Is an Astoundingly Good Narrator!
Revisado: 06-17-18
Having seen General Hayden on network news, I already appreciate his perspective. An well-spoken intelligence officer who organizes evidence-based ethics in a way which is commensurate with logic and the US Constitution.
I was pleased first of all - it is he who narrates this. Always nice to hear a book directly from the horse's mouth.
I was further pleased to hear - HE'S A DARN GOOD NARRATOR! Hayden's narration is slow, deliberate, & very easy on the ear.
