This was a great book. The movie was also great, but it's not the book. both the movie and book could be enjoyed and would not spoil the other. It's wonderful how that turned out.

There is a lot of chew on. Its a classic and very wordy. I gave it a five because it is a great reading of a classic that has to be done. I would say this is a book i never need to consume again, but im glad I did.

twisted story of youth - audio is butchered

Past the butchered editing from the CD recording to the audible file - its a very funny story and the narrator does a good job. Its dark in places, and can be twisted. The character and story feel like 'fear and loathing in las vegas'. But, replace the drugs with sex and replace hunter with a 14 year old boy.
Very funny book - but this audiobook is missing large chunks. I think there were chapters out of order. At one chapter beginning it announced it was CD 9. At the end of many chapters the recording is cut in mid sentence. And the worst part of this, im pretty sure there are multiple chapters missing in the end. Talking to my wife who read the book, there is a lot missing - no closure as to how Nick's life turns out in this audio version.
My advice - if you like dark and twisted tales of a sexed crazed youth, get this book. but, not this version. you will miss a lot due to poor audio editing. It really was butchered when it was formatted for audible from CDs.

This is great audio entertainment

Out of the dozens of titles i have downloaded this last year I would have to rate this book as the best. Amazing readings from a great cast. This story is well written and flows very well. It is also a good length for me under 7 hours. I like shorter books. This book is not as much of a 'zombie horror' as a 'fall of civilization' story. I highly recommend it.
