I am not normally a zombie-story reader, but i've read some of Justin Leslie's work and enjoyed it that when he offered a code for the book i jumped on it.

i was NOT disappointed,
Ben has been, in one way or another sticking his head underground for a good while.
Yes - He is well prepared and equipped but going out he finds out not everything goes according to the plan.

i kept staying the car listening for good while after i reached my destination just to get a bit more

narration was good!

i would definitely recommend this book/series

Space! Action! Humor! and awesome narrator!

First book in series and I already cant wait wait for the next, the 12 hours went by waay faster than i thought possible

Worldbuilding has a great pace giving you story and information as you go without feeling like huge future info dump.
Great interactions and varied characters, you'll end up laughing at inside jokes with the people telling them,.
It's hard to pick a favorite character (At least for me), I just couldn't stop listening!

if you enjoy sci-fi, space action & humor you'll definitely enjoy this book!

Luke Daniels does great work bringing the words to life.

Half a book...

The book seem to end at the middle.

The first book was enjoyable even though it had many holes and oddities... This however will be the last book in the series that I try.
Book starts a story and barely gets to the middle (or not even that) before ending.
The part that does start is takes away from the interest the first book replacing with progress unrelated to the characters.

Atleast the narrator does a good job

Struggle to get through

This story needs to be cut by 75%... There's good story hidden behind descriptions so long you'll forget what or who they were about.

The amount of "oh get on with it" per minute is staggering and it was a real struggle to finish... I do regret starting it in the first place.

The narrator does a good job. But it's not enough to save the story

2 Stories in 1, Unexpected and Captivating!

It was not what i was expecting and it sucked me in.

Grant Legate's story unfolds, part by part, as he lives his mundane & boring life of avoiding living by workaholicism.
Things change for Grant when he's forced to take time off to 'enjoy his prize' and play 'Continue Online' - something he avoided getting for himself.
Bit by bit we get to know him, his history and from that to somehow understand his actions, pain and why he needs to succeed in the mission presented to him.
And then there's Carver - an NPC whom Grant is temporarily playing, with his own rich history and life which will bring a smile and crankiness into your life.

The virtual reality world he enters might be a game, yet it brings the question(to me) of at what point does a virtual world could turn into a real world, and if the UI would not be there - could we tell the difference?

I've really enjoyed the book and highly recommend it.

Grant Legate takes on the role because he is offered information if successful, like a cheese crumb for a mouse, but i'll be honest - i've forgotten if/what he gets at the end -> because i'm still focused on the journey.

Heck, i'm going to read & listen to it again before i go to the next one.

Fun side tale

I'll start with: if you enjoyed the Arcane Ascension books - you'l enjoy this one.
Nick Podehl is a magnificent narrator - and he does not fail (i previously started books solely based on him narrating them)

The story Keras Selyrian tells us in this book will feels similar to the way we hear of Corin Cadence story in the Arcane Ascension books and while i enjoyed it, it felt to sometime border on them merging in my imagination.

overall the book opens more questions, answers very little... and i want more

M-Gnificant! couldn't stop, lose of sleep warning

You are right there with Spensa (which you'l soon only call Spin), through ups and downs, on the ground, in caves hunting rats , stealing glimpses of the sky and in the air.

narration is great and you'l soon find yourself drowning in the words, imagining being there...

do yourself a favor and get this book

Action packed finale to layla's story

Enjoyable book, layla's story goes on with all the whacky friends and puns.
obviously Remy is still the hero... because... Remy..
we get some of mordred's point of view in addition, my only complaint would be wanting a different narrator for his voice.

There's even a dragon or 2!

start with Hellequin, continue to Avalon Chronicles... and now bite your nails while we wait for the next book.
