Sublime
Revisado: 11-23-22
I have spent years wondering if there would ever be a book that I could say felt like it was written straight to me. I have always felt that I was out of my depth and excluded from the right to say that this is the creative world I belong in, a place that was like a first language, an indigenous home. I am so grateful to have been able to hear this, sit with it, and listen as if alongside a friend. As a teenager I wanted more than anything to write poetry, but part of me was limited by a lack of informed understanding. More correctly, the only thing I had was intuition. This is a beautiful and precious book.It has opened and lit my world.

This is the most acessible resource I have found after years of trying everything within reach to rest my mind. The excersises are simply explained. There is an absence of ego and lots of low key positive processes.Highly recommend trying these out.I woke up rested and feeling upskilled to get through another day.It is cheap It is clear and it is delivered with kindness.Outstanding. And I have spent the last 35 years seeking something so pure and simple.Much gratitude.

Historia
Through this special 18-lecture course, explore a powerful four-fold ancient pattern found throughout life, Christian worship, and many revered spiritual exercises. This pattern appears to underlie the choice of four Gospels and their sequencing into the three-year Sunday reading cycles. The four Gospels, when read through this lens, move beyond separate accounts of Jesus to become a seamless spiritual guide for daily life.

What did you love best about The Four-Gospel Journey as a Guide for the Spiritual Life?
This is a highly informed and sensitive perception of the Gospel presented in a very intimate way. Although a 'different' take, it is firmly grounded in a spiritual practice that is relevant to 'how' we read as well as 'what' we read.It is very much a contemporary take on timeless reality.
What other book might you compare The Four-Gospel Journey as a Guide for the Spiritual Life to and why?
'Surprised by Joy' by C.S Lewis, has a similar sense of the personal revelations experienced by an individual being shared.
What about Dr. Alexander J. Shaia PhD’s performance did you like?
Alexander, is a natural teacher. He encourages the listener to think freshly rather than accept instruction. There is a poetic flavor to his expression of ideas that is both hooked into past thought, insight into history and universal grace .
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I consider this an excellent introduction to thinking and feeling the Gospel .
Any additional comments?
It blows away simplistic readings and helps reveal a deeply cultural context without becoming only 'history.' I think the writers own family history has allowed him to be able to act like a translator. There is an emotional edge that touches the heart. There is a tenderness and vulnerability that embraces the "I am with you."
