Excellent, excellent reading of a great book
Revisado: 01-14-24
Great book. The reader does a great job of representing the various characters and, especially, capturing Italian culture. Highly recommended.

Historia
The riveting third edition of this New York Times bestseller blows the whistle on China’s economic hit man (EHM) strategy, exposes corruption on an international scale, and offers much-needed solutions for curing the degenerative Death Economy. In this shocking exposé, former EHM John Perkins gives an insider view into the corrupt system that cheats and strong-arms countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars and ultimately causes staggering income inequality and ecological devastation.

Relatively even-handed historical perspective
Revisado: 10-09-23
Good read. The vocal performance was excellent. The book gives a relatively even-handed historical perspective but, as is often the case, fails to grasp the depravity of man and the cultural/societal results that consistently defy the best intentions. Regardless of the political system, the strong seem to always subjugate the weak. Christianity remains the only hope for changing the hearts of men.

Historia
First published in 1970, nine years after Hemingway's death, this is the story of an artist and adventurer, a man much like Hemingway himself. Beginning in the 1930s, Islands in the Stream follows the fortunes of Thomas Hudson, from his experiences as a painter on the Gulf Stream island of Bimini through his antisubmarine activities off the coast of Cuba during World War II. Hemingway is at his mature best in this beguiling tale.

A compelling self-portrait
Revisado: 02-03-22
Hemingway looking back across his life in reality and fantasy - the good, bad, and ugly. Sad that he never saw the real meaning.
The reading and production of this audiobook is FANTASTIC.

The second entails one of the most remarkable narratives ever to come out of the Old West: the epic saga of the pioneer woman Cynthia Ann Parker and her mixed-blood son, Quanah, who became the last and greatest chief of the Comanches.

Interesting History with Some Bias
Revisado: 10-23-21
To a resident of the Texas Hill Country, the history of Comancheria is fascinating. Unfortunately, the author taints it with a little too much "Noble Savage."

Takes a little while to get into the book. Stick with it. The beauty is in the historical vignettes. The leadership applications could be gleaned by reading the table of contents and the bullet list at the end of each chapter.
