I like the story but not the reader.
Revisado: 05-12-24
It’s interesting realistic and entertaining but I am sorry to say the author really needs to hire someone else to do the vocal. The voices are irritating to the point of wanting to stop listening.

I love these books. Cause they have dogs and computers and a university etc.
I have liked the narration better in some of the others.

Like the story and characters. A little less screeching would be appreciated. Hate the screaching.

Good story but.,. I’m
Revisado: 02-13-23
This is the first novel of this series or any other of this genre where I found myself truly disliking the protagonist, Maddie, because
of her relentless, obnoxious, intrusive nosiness. It’s an obsession with her and becomes more and more annoying. She wasn’t quite as bad in the first books I read. I will read another but if Maddie continues to act this way that will be the last one. If she wants to butt into people’s lives so relentlessly she needs to get a license. JMO.

Historia
Jessica James is broke and counting down the days until she can defend her philosophy thesis. Desperate to get out of her grubby attic digs, she and her friends break into her professor’s office…only to find her adviser dead in the tub. Scoping the crime scene for clues, she leaves evidence that makes her both a suspect and a target. Suspecting the school's Russian janitor of doing more than sweeping the floors, Jessica mounts an investigation. Her ragtag posse helps her uncover a related date-drug scandal, and she fears she’s the next on the killer’s to-do list.

Historia
Millie Barnes is this close to finally achieving her perfect life. Rewarding job as a local doctor on Cape Cod? Check. Cute cottage of her very own? Check. Adorable dog suitable for walks past attractive locals? Check! All she needs is for golden boy and former crush Joe Carpenter to notice her, and Millie will be set. But perfection isn't as easy as it looks - especially when Sam Nickerson, a local policeman, is so distracting. He is definitely not part of her master plan. But maybe it's time for Millie to make a new plan....

Appealing but annoying
Revisado: 10-26-22
The story is entertaining but the protagonist acts in such annoying ways that it is sometimes really difficult to continue reading. First she stalks a pretty boy that she finally gets to notice her then she ends up breaking up with him in a totally unnecessarily mean way. When she finally realizes who she is really in love with, she is scared to tell him because of some ridiculous ideas.

Historia
The charming vacation house on the coast of Maine was meant to be a heavenly retreat for Danica Lindsay and her husband Blake, a place where they could mend the wounds of a strained and tired marriage. Instead, she finds herself mostly there alone while Blake's political star is rapidly rising back in Boston. Were it not for the companionship of her new neighbor, gentle and caring Michael Buchanan, Danica would surely be overcome by loneliness and despair.

Historia
Grace Stanton’s life as a rising media star and beloved lifestyle blogger takes a surprising turn when she catches her husband cheating and torpedoes his pricey sports car straight into the family swimming pool. Grace suddenly finds herself locked out of her palatial home, checking account, and even the blog she has worked so hard to develop in her signature style. Moving in with her widowed mother, who owns and lives above a rundown beach bar called The Sandbox, is less than ideal.

But for some reason I found this protagonist really annoying. That’s not usually the case for me with this author’s characters.
