Historia
In Marbella, Spain, Dr. Kate Warner awakens to a horrifying reality: the human race stands on the brink of extinction. A pandemic unlike any before it has swept the globe. Nearly a billion people are dead--and those the Atlantis Plague doesn't kill, it transforms at the genetic level. A few rapidly evolve. The remainder devolve. As the world slips into chaos, radical solutions emerge. Industrialized nations offer a miracle drug, Orchid, which they mass produce and distribute to refugee camps around the world. But Orchid is merely a way to buy time. It treats the symptoms of the plague but never actually cures the disease.

much better
Revisado: 08-23-24
the narration has gotten better, not great but better. the writing has improved and tge storyline is still amazing. I love the way past historical events are woven in to the story. it makes for a very believable narrative. Had this been read by R.c. a ray or Travis Baldry it would have been stellar

fantastic concept
Revisado: 08-21-24
The story line is very interesting, intriguing how the writer brings in so many historical events and the concept is great. The writing itself is not the greatest and the narrator is not the best but it's still worth the listen.

Historia
The Troubles. A quaint name for a horrific period in the galaxy's history. A period whose atrocities were superseded only by the terror of the Savage Wars that had come before. Almost no corner of the galaxy was spared a taste of terrible war, cutthroat intrigue…and remorseless death. In the aftermath, this battered galaxy now longs for peace and stability. The Republic, now reformed, seeks to govern by the rule of law. But no matter how sincere the reform, how earnest and well-meaning the ruler, some worlds refuse to place their destiny in the hands of others. Ever again.

not sure how I feel
Revisado: 05-19-24
I'm not really certain if I'm okay with the story here. the writing seems different. What bothers me the most is the narrator. I can understand the need to change for various reasons. This narrator may ultimately be okay but not only are we paying a lot of money for this book but the narrator is being paid a lot to perform it. it is appalling that he could not even be bothered to listen to previous stories to get pronunciations the same. Very shoddy work.

not bad
Revisado: 02-23-24
First time I have listened to this author and narrator, both were okay. A little more depth and detail from the writer would be good. I will probably listen to the next in the series before making a decision to stick with it or move on to something else.

a must listen
Revisado: 06-12-23
I first listened to this series years ago, when it first came out, the waiting for the next book was painful. Scott Sigler does an amazing job at creating a story that will grip you until the end. I was super excited to see it and decided to listen again. loving it just as must as the first time. The performance is also exemplary.

Major Letdown
Revisado: 05-04-23
I really like both authors and have truly enjoyed everything I've listened to from them, except this. The first six chapters have been a big struggle to get through. There are major jumps in the story with no explanation of how we got there. The boot camp is well, in no way believable. The writing is truly sub par, not at all what I would expect from either of these authors.

Historia
Against the backdrop of worldwide, unexplainable natural disasters, Dr. Virginia Marilyn Edwards (Emmy Award-winner Kerry Washington) seeks out Agent Scott Thomas (Emmy Award-winner Laurence Fishburne) at a secretive government headquarters. Virginia claims these events are signs, and unless Agent Thomas helps her, she believes things will only get worse. Her desperation is dialed up higher with a shocking proclamation as she stands before him pregnant, weak, and weary: “Agent Thomas,” she says, “I believe I am Mary.”

disappointed (but it was a great idea)
Revisado: 04-08-23
In hundreds of books I have only one other time left a bad review. The first 7 episodes were fantastic. The story concept and performance is top notch, although it would all benefit from a bit more depth. The characters' stories are completely different from what is in the bible, but I was still really enjoying it as a whole, right up until it was turned racial and a heavy focus placed on that. Let's be realistic every person is discriminated against for one reason or another. People ignore those and only focus on a couple of the reasons. it's all wrong and we need to stop making only a couple of the reasons important.

Historia
On a little-known planet, Archmage Varic Vallenar casts a grand spell to empower himself with the magical abilities of his alternate selves. The ritual works too well, granting Varic not only the magic but also the memories from six lives. Including their gruesome deaths. Now, Varic has power greater than any wizard in galactic history, but he knows that won’t be enough. The enemies he faced in those alternate lives were apocalyptic in scale. Terrors of technology and magic. Nothing that he, or anyone, can defeat.
