Other than a few mistakes VV did a very good job of keeping the story interesting.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

At 15, Alexis Carew has to face an age old problem - she's a girl, and only a boy can inherit the family's vast holdings. Her options are few. She must marry and watch a stranger run the lands, or become a penniless tenant and see the lands she so dearly loves sold off. Yet there may be another option, one that involves becoming a midshipman on a shorthanded spaceship with no other females.

I WANT MY CREDIT BACK!!!!!!
Revisado: 04-03-15
What would have made Earth Strike better?
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT... THE WRITER SPENT SO MUCH TIME TALKING ABOUT MEANINGLESS TECH SPECS AND NO TIME DEVELOPING HIS CHARACTERS. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BY A ROBOT.
Has Earth Strike turned you off from other books in this genre?
NO... I'VE LISTENED TO OVER 200 BOOKS IN THIS GENRE AND THIS IS ARGUABLY THE WORST OF THE BUNCH.
Would you be willing to try another one of Nick Sullivan’s performances?
MAYBE... I KNOW HE DIDN'T HAVE MUCH TO WORK WITH BUT A READER LIKE FRANK MULLER WOULD HAVE LEAST MADE IT BEARABLE.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
COMPLETE BOREDOM... THOUGH I MIGHT LISTEN TO IT WHEN I CAN'T SLEEP.
Any additional comments?
I'VE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND FOR THE MOST PART I'M HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASES BUT THERE NEEDS TO BE A WAY TO GET A CREDIT BACK WHEN THE MATERIAL SUCKS.

Historia
In the wake of a humbling incident aboard a canal boat in the Cotswolds, young Captain Horatio Hornblower arrives in London to take command of the Atropos, a 22-gun sloop barely large enough to require a captain. Her first assignment under Hornblower's command is as flagship for the funeral procession of Lord Nelson. Soon Atropos is part of the Mediterranean Fleet's harassment of Napoleon, recovering treasure that lies deep in Turkish waters

Worst audio book I've ever wasted my money on.
Revisado: 01-03-15
What disappointed you about Hornblower and the "Atropos"?
The Narrator Nicolas Coster destroyed any enjoyment I might have in one of my favorite series. I had to speed his voice up to 1.25 just to even attempt to listen to it but his voice and reading just ruined it for me. I spend a lot of money to enjoy myself and not have to force myself to listen.
Would you ever listen to anything by C. S. Forester again?
YES
Would you be willing to try another one of Nicolas Coster’s performances?
NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any additional comments?
I'd like a refund on this one.
