Beautiful, Haunting, and Exciting - Art
Revisado: 03-22-24
The author wrote a masterpiece biography. To my knowledge, historically accurate, and beautifully told. The narrator also is incredible and perfectly suited to the content. There is a synergy between Lincoln's life and writings, the author's writing style and focus, and the narrators intonation and pacing, that created something incredible.
This audiobook is a work of art. I have played passages out loud for friends, something I've never done with any other book. I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks, this is the best one.

Historia
How much of our daily caloric intake comes from ingesting substances that, technically speaking, do not meet traditional definitions of “food”? Chances are, if you’re eating something that came wrapped in plastic and contains a funky ingredient you don’t have in your kitchen, it's most likely—almost definitely—ultra-processed food, or UPF.

Incredible

I am a psychiatry resident and have a PhD in neuroscience. I studied the hypothalamic origins of hunger. This book taught me quite a bit and nailed it on the topics I was familiar with. I was touched by the discussion of journal club at the beginning, so reminiscent of my own experiences in lab :)
I loved this book. Please read it.

Historia
Almost a century ago, the first flights to Hawaii required a nerve-racking and uncertain 26-hour journey to isolated and elusive islands located in the middle of the world's largest ocean. Pilots prayed they would encounter land after flying a full day and night across 2,400 miles of the open Pacific. Race to Hawaii chronicles the thrilling first flights to Hawaii in the 1920s, during the Golden Age of Aviation.

Epic story
Revisado: 03-04-23
I couldn’t stop listening, I had to find out what happened. The pacing was great. Further, there are an appropriate number of vignettes that wonderfully capture this era of aviation history and contextualize the race. I’m no expert, but I have read the number of history books about this era, and I found it to be accurate.
