The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor's secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han Solo and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack, while Princess Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins.

It Lived Up
Revisado: 12-04-24
This trilogy is legendary among Star Wars books and it lives up to it after finally finishing it. Thrawn is an artfully done antagonist and all the threads we were following throughout the first two books conclude with satisfaction. The sound effects and narration were nice too in my opinion.

Druss, Captain of the Axe: the stories of his life were told everywhere. Instead of the wealth and fame he could have claimed, he had chosen a mountain lair, high in the lonely country bordering on the clouds. There the grizzled old warrior kept company with snow leopards and awaited his old enemy, death.

A Classic. A Legend.
Revisado: 10-20-23
I saw an interview with Henry Cavill where he recommended this book. I'm glad I followed that recommendation. Druss the Legend is a captivating character who has a history that made me want to learn more. The tension of battle is intense in this book. And I thought it was well performed by the voice actor.

Revisado: 06-16-23
it's one of the Star Wars classics for a reason. it's a very good story with a great villain. The narrator does a good job with all the voices. I wasn't sure about the sound effects at first but they really grew on me.

Historia
Michael Shellenberger has been fighting for a greener planet for decades. He helped save the world’s last unprotected redwoods. He co-created the predecessor to today’s Green New Deal. And he led a successful effort by climate scientists and activists to keep nuclear plants operating, preventing a spike of emissions. But in 2019, as some claimed "billions of people are going to die", contributing to rising anxiety, including among adolescents, Shellenberger decided that he needed to speak out to separate science from fiction.

Everybody Should Read This
Revisado: 05-26-23
Shellenberger does a fantastic job of bringing sensibility to a very polarized topic. It is well written and very informative. It's very easy to get hooked into his style of writing. In this book he busts some very common myths and sheds light on many topics that everybody should be more informed about. I can't recommend this enough.

Lysander Spooner was one of slavery’s fiercest enemies. As a lawyer, he offered free legal services to escaped slaves, defending them in court. He advocated smuggling guns to slaves, with which to overthrow their masters, and take possession of their property. “Give the Slave-holders, then, a taste of their own whips.”

I HAVE SEARCHED FOR THE WORDS FOR A LONG TIME

Every American should read this!
Revisado: 03-16-23
"But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist."
Spooner is great and his case for liberty is one of the best. This guy was a lawyer who represented escaped slaves for free but also makes the case against northern aggression. He also makes the case against the Constitution and why it is not binding to anyone. If you have never heard any perspective like this then this is well worth the read to stretch your mind and hear some different, well spoken ideas. Besides, this book is an all time classic as far as American political theory goes.

Historia
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

Revisado: 03-24-22
Simon Prebble does a great job. He is very clear speaking and does a good job with different character voices.
The book overall has aged very well. Much of what Orwell wrote in this fictional book so long ago reads as prophetic today.

Historia
The media tells us that "deregulation" and "unfettered free markets" have wrecked our economy and will continue to make things worse without a heavy dose of federal regulation. But the real blame lies elsewhere. In Meltdown, best-selling author Thomas E. Woods, Jr., unearths the real causes behind the collapse of housing values and the stock market---and it turns out the culprits reside more in Washington than on Wall Street.

Tom is great which is no surprise
Revisado: 03-03-22
A fantastic dive into what happened in the '08 Global Financial Crisis unlike anything you get from the mainstream or partisan talking points. In fact it tackles and answers questions that are often left out of conversation because most people simply lack the necessary knowledge and perspective to answer them. That perspective is the Austrian school of economics, the school that historically warns of the biggest crashes and is thanklessly forgotten when those warnings are proven correct. Tom explains what happened, why, and should be done in terms easy to understand for anyone. This book is still every bit as relevant, probably even more, today as it was when it was written.

Historia
The Mises Institute is pleased to present this audio edition of Rothbard's most famous monetary essay - the one that has influenced two generations of economists, investors, and business professionals. The Mises Institute has united this book with its natural complement: a detailed reform proposal for a 100 percent gold dollar. "The Case for a 100 Percent Gold Dollar" was written a decade before the last vestiges of the gold standard were abolished.

Historia
The Great Depression was not a crisis for capitalism but merely an example of the downturn part of the business cycle, which was generated by government intervention in the economy. Had this book appeared in the 1940s, it might have spared the world much grief. Even so, its appearance in 1963 meant that free-market advocates had their first full-scale treatment of this crucial subject.
