Historia
Strap in for the opening salvo of the ARISEN: Operators epic—the biggest and most explosive ARISEN adventure yet and the untold story of the pipe-hitting operators of the Unified Special Operations Command during the first two years of the Zulu Alpha. To have any chance of reaching safety in Fortress Britain, Master Sergeant Yaël Sion must first escape the collapsing gravity well of Israel as it's devoured from within by merciless jihadi fighters, striking in the chaos of rampaging hordes of infected civilians, all in a global pandemic spiraling out of control.

Not bad, not great
Revisado: 03-20-25
As title says. Big fan of the Arisen series but this feels like a drop in quality for me. The main character is unlikable and doesn't have much personality. The storyline is pretty good and has a decent flow but sometimes it could do with less filler. As in, everything is described so elaborately. Sometimes that's just not necessary. Also, why tf does this book have an AI generated cover? The character on the cover looks nothing like the character described in the book. I think you need to let listeners/readers form their own image of characters by the description in the book. Using a generic AI generated character on the cover just ruins that. And it's very generic, because all AI generated women look pretty much the same. It's a sad downgrade versus older covers. Which weren't always great, but at least someone took the time to actually create it and not prompt it with some random words.

Historia
The vibrant economy of the new Vietnam is a shiny lure for Western capital. Companies are racing to uncover ideal opportunities. Not wanting to be left behind, Hendley Associates has sent their best analyst, Jack Ryan, Jr., to mine for investment gold. And he may have found some in a rare earth mining company—GeoTech. But a trip with a Hendley colleague to the Highlands to observe the company’s operations takes a treacherous turn when their helicopter is shot down. Some things haven’t changed, and Vietnam is still the plaything of powerful neighbors.

Excellent book once more
Revisado: 09-21-24
The Jack Ryan (Jr.) books keep delivering. Good story, good pace but maybe a little short in length, Mr. Brick is great as always, could not imagine this series without him. The only issue I'm starting to have is the weird treatment of characters, A new one is introduced once more, but nothing much happens with strong characters from the past like Midas. Shame really. Don't mind new characters if old ones aren't put aside in a lame way.

Historia
In the year 2107, the world has both made astounding leaps forward and reduced humanity to its most basic existence. While the megacorps and those who rule them enjoy lives of extraordinary comfort and ease, most people barely scrape by, doing whatever they can to keep going. Juliet Bianchi is one of the latter. She works cutting metal in a scrapyard and doesn't have much to show for it except for a small group of equally bereft, fiercely loyal friends. Still, she maintains a bright disposition, possessing more hope and optimism than anyone would expect her to—and she's going to need it.

Great cyberpunk adventure
Revisado: 07-30-24
First time listening to a litrpg, it’s certainly a weird genre but I like it. Heavily borrows from the Mike Pondsmith universe but that’s not a bad thing, we severely lack books from that universe.
It’s not very fast paced but plenty enjoyable. The narrator is excellent and reminds me a lot of Cherami Leigh. So highly recommended if you like the cyberpunk and sco-fi genres. I am taking one point off of the overal score because of the use of generative AI in the cover art though. That’s not okay at all. The other books seem to have fixed that though.

In sparkling Night City, a ragtag group of strangers have just pulled off a heist, robbing a convoy transporting a mysterious container belonging to Militech. The only thing the group has in common is that they were blackmailed into participating in the heist-and they have no idea just how far their mysterious employer's reach goes, or the purpose of the artifact they stole.

Kinda confusing here and there but overall decent
Revisado: 06-09-24
As a huge Cyberpunk 2077 fan I had to get this book. The narration is absolutely fantastic and the author has done a good job creating interesting characters but the story is hard to follow at certain points. It's just not well connected and sometimes you're just wondering "who's this again?" and "how did we get here?". Maybe it's better in paper form but I had to rewind quite a lot just to somewhat follow the storyline and that doesn't happen to me often. Still hoping for more novels in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe though :)

Revisado: 03-16-24
Another strong entry in this series. I hope it keeps going for another good while as the quality is just so consistent. This one in particular is also very relevant to current real world events. While fiction it’s also a warning tale against the (AI) tech bro’s that think they can play god. Unfortunately we don’t have a Gentry, Zoya or Hightower in the real world.

Historia
The quiet of a Texas night is shattered by the sounds of screeching brakes, crumpling metal and, most shockingly, rapid gunfire. The auto accident Jack Ryan Jr thought he witnessed turned out to be a professional hit. Jack may be too late to save the victim, but he’ll be damned if he’s going to let the hitters escape justice. He’s got just one lead—a meeting the victim was going to. When Jack shows up instead, he’s drawn into the seedy underbelly of a small Texas town and the cold case of a college student who vanished from its streets.

Absolutely loved it
Revisado: 11-21-23
Another good title in the series. Not super sure why it's lower rated than others. Sure, it's not going to win any major literary prizes but it's just good entertainment in this genre. Bricks' great as always and the length is just enough.
If there's somewhat of a minus in this book it's that it takes a while to build up, and then unfolds in a rather short time. Not per se bad, just the writing style I suppose.
Also love the addition of Jad and Cary, really fun characters.

Another great release in what has to be one of the best action/adventure/thriller-series ever made imo. There aren't any big surprises here but it's as solid as they come. Ray Porter is awesome as always, he literally personifies Joe Ledger.
So highly recommended for fans of the series and I hope we'll see the next one soon.

Revisado: 06-12-23
Excellent entry in the series. It's great to see some characters in action years many years before we currently know them. The DDR/cold war is also an amazing setting. Would not mind reading more stories from this timeline. Scott Brick is solid as always.
Minor point is that the F117 isn't as prominent as I thought it'd be. It's a very minor side character at best, but I understand how it weaves into the story.

Short review: not the best book in the series but still very entertaining. Storywise it was a bit out there at times, but well written either way. Scott Brick doesn't need an explanation I think, he's a solid narrator for these type of books.

This is definitely the best Clancy-branded book in years. It’s a rollercoaster from beginning to end with interesting situations and locations. Book has a good length and pace. Loved all of it. Hope Don Bentley will write some more of these, and Scott Brick was excellent as always.
