Historia
Nicole Berman is determined to find there the first concrete evidence of the biblical patriarch Abraham while leading her first archeological dig in Jordan. During the excavation, Berman discovers a 4,000-year-old complex that includes evidence she believes proves her theory. But a devastating cave-in nearly kills her and she awakens in a Saudi clinic, haunted by visions of what she may have seen - evidence of Abraham and his two sons, the half-brothers Isaac and Ishmael. One discovery leads to another, and Nicole sets off across the region to connect pieces of an ancient puzzle.

I can’t even finish
Revisado: 04-06-25
I found this audiobook to be confusing, repetitive and uninteresting. Also, I didn’t care for narration. Sounded like cartoon characters. Lots of overly aggressive “investigation”.

Historia
Divorce attorney Harper James can't catch a break. Bad enough that she runs into her ex-hubby, Nick, at her sister's destination wedding, but now, by a cruel twist of fate, she's being forced to make a cross-country road trip with him. And her almost-fiancé back at home is not likely to be sympathetic.

Great Narrator. Chaotic story.
Revisado: 01-26-25
I liked the first half of the book (maybe even more of it) but there were so many poor decisions (almost all of the characters) and whiplash changes in how they behaved and communicated. For example a devoted, loving and caring character suddenly changed to being blinded by ambition and deaf to their partner’s feelings. Too many points of chaos for me to just enjoy the ride. (I usually love this author❤️)

NOT LIGHTHEARTED but excellent
Revisado: 11-18-24
Perhaps there are darker stories out there, but this one was simply much darker than I had been expecting. Once I adjusted my expectations I was able to move ahead with this most-interesting story, which I truly appreciated and recommend. Excellent narration, great story. Will definitely listen to the sequel once it is released.

Why not just hire an actual English person? Haven’t finished the story. Will try to push through because others liked the story so much.

Historia
A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

Loved the story. Loved the California setting as a CA resident. (…but have to confess I was disproportionately distracted every time the city of Merced as mentioned. It’s pronounced like merSED). 😅 Many thanks to the author for another excellent story.

Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she's thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office.

This was a really good story with excellent narration. Although it deals with some fairly difficult topics they are handled quite well. I will be recommending to my friends. 3 cheers for Eleanor.

Historia
Iris Nightingale is more than okay. She has her life planned out to a perfect schedule. Work, run, sleep, repeat. She spends her quiet Friday nights sitting alone on a bench in the park, trying to push back the memories that no amount of running can help her escape. But one evening, there’s someone else on her bench - Hunter. Tall, wry and infuriating: everything about him gets under Iris’s skin. Little does she know that he's about to upset more than just her routines...

Compelling. Mostly light… but not entirely
Revisado: 05-30-24
Loved this story. I was a little thrown off by other reviewers calling this “light”. Some heavy subjects included but so well handled. I can often predict direction but this one was less predictable (to me).
(And just a little steamy.)

Revisado: 04-25-24
This just wasn’t for me apparently. So many others enjoyed, so I just kept trying. I usually like this narrator. I just couldn’t go any further on this one though. The narration is very “old timey”…borderline corny (to me).

After a health scare, 77-year-old Barbara goes to convalesce in the sleepy Somerset village of Winsleigh Green with her sister, Pauline, who is now a widow.
