Historia
Afternoon tea isn't just about flavorful brews and delicious treats. It's also about presentation—fine china teacups (never mugs!), with carefully coordinated saucers and plates. With her fragile stock running low, Lily has an excuse to indulge in one of her favorite hobbies: visiting an antiques fair for replacements. Lily snaps up a charming Peter Rabbit-themed tea set in a wicker basket, perfect for children's events. But a few days later, a woman named Kimberly marches into the tearoom, rudely demanding to buy it back—then later returns and removes an envelope hidden in the lining.

Enjoyable story bad narrating
Revisado: 08-18-24
I always enjoy Vicki Delany’s books. The story is engaging and the character are thoughtful and full of life. The description of the scenery is vivid.
The narration is appalling. I become disengaged with the story due to the narrator’s cadence. Her accents are insulting. Two characters are supposed to have English accents and they sound more like someone who just had a stroke. She really should consider another line of work.

Historia
The country's hottest TV cooking show is coming to Cape Cod. Lily Roberts is entering America Bakes! with her charming tearoom, Tea by the Sea! Filming is already proving disruptive, closing the tearoom during Lily's busiest season. But tensions really bubble over when infamous bad-boy chef and celebrity judge, Tommy Greene, loses his temper with Lily's staff, resulting in an on-camera blowout with Cheryl Wainwright. Just as Lily thinks the competition can't get more bitter, Tommy is found dead in Tea by the Sea's kitchen . . . murdered with Cheryl's rolling pin.

Great story…horrible narrator
Revisado: 08-11-24
I’ve always enjoy Vicki Delany’s books and this was no exception. Great character development, story that draws you in and is very entertaining. BUT, the narrator is absolutely horrible. Took away from the storyline. Her English accent is insulting and she speaks like an old 1950’s P.I who is past his prime. She really needs to hang up her microphone.

Great story…HORRIBLE voiceover actor!!
Revisado: 08-04-24
The storyline was engaging and the mystery kept me thinking. The voice over actor who read the book, Shaina Summerville was absolutely awful. Her male voices were ridiculous and she constantly sounds like an old P.I show. Not authentic and very unenjoyable.

More Sappy Romance Then Mystery
Revisado: 08-04-23
Billed as a cozy mystery this book is more of a ridiculous sappy romance story. The main character bouncing between two men. Let’s focus on the murder!

Narrator not well suited
Revisado: 03-30-23
I’ve always enjoyed the Scumble River mysteries but that was with Christine Leto narrating. This new narrator, Tanya Eby sounds too old for the character of Skye and she can’t do other voices with accents. Not a good choice for this series. The story is entertaining and I’m so happy the author continued the series.

Historia
Louisa Henry has had the worst year. She never imagined she would be a widow before the age of 40. To cope with the sudden loss of her husband, Lou moves across the country to live near her best friend in a town as cute as a button. Even though it means quitting her fancy New York editor job, she now owns the bookstore of her dreams. Well, almost. She definitely didn’t dream about a dead man showing up in her alley. The police plaster the man’s face everywhere, along with the name of her bookshop, inundating Lou with negative press before she can even open.

Lovely story but the audio is very patchy
Revisado: 05-05-20
The story was lovely and the imagery was quite engrossing but the audio quality was very, very poor. I had to listen to it on high volume and still couldn't hear it clearly.
