Story is longer than it needed to be. Narrator does not do different voices very well.

Ok, but not great
Revisado: 11-26-23
Stories are ok but nothing really captivating. Narrator is good except his portrayal of Holmes. He makes him sound like a member of the royal family sometimes. With over emphasis on syllables and rolling “R”s in his speech. Made me cringe several times.

Entertaining

Very entertaining. Not crazy about another time travel story but this one is still worth the listen for any Marvel fan. And the sound effects are not over the top and do not drown out the performers like some others.

Bloated
Revisado: 11-09-23
I’ve been a fan since the 70’s and love the universe but not all the multi ones this story/trilogy goes into. I struggled to get through it. Felt like it wouldn’t end. Long and drawn out. This trilogy could have been half the length. The narrator is good as always but after three books of listening to him the characters start to sound all the same. If you’re into Picard’s spoiled kids, Wesley, Sisko and the prophets (ugh), then this story is for you. The writers thought they had a grand plot to rap up the story lines on a lot of characters (including the ones nobody cares about), but this is a dud. I listened to it so you don’t have to. Not recommend.

Good story. Average narration. Poor research.
Revisado: 06-06-22
Good job bringing the two super teams together. Story is compelling enough to keep you going but is weak on action. Narrator is very limited on the range of voices he can perform. One thing that bothered me that might seem trivial to everyone else is the lack of research from the author. For example…At one point of the story when Bruce Banner is in Niagara Falls, New York, the author states that over 100,000 gallons of water go over the American and Horseshoe Falls combined every minute. The fact is that over 750,000 gallons of water go over the two falls combined every SECOND! That’s over 45 million gallons per minute! Would it have killed the author or the editor to Google this fact and check it out? If they can’t be bothered with a detail like that, what kind of care do they really put into their story? That kind of makes this book just feel like a money grab by putting the two super hero teams together and slap it in the cover. Come on, guys….do your homework!

Not my favorite timeline.
Revisado: 07-05-21
Not my favorite story subject. Cannot get into these stories with Kirk as an Admiral babysitting cadets at an academy and our other favorite trek characters split up. Kirk & Co. really belong on a ship and out in the great unknown TOGETHER. That is what made trek great. Our favorite characters interacting with EACH OTHER in times of crisis. I did appreciate the call backs in the story from episodes of TOS though. It gives the adventures some sense of continuity where the TV series had none. Performance from narrator is as good as always.

Not up to my Bond standard
Revisado: 04-08-19
Plot was slow moving with no mystery. I do not want to spoil everything for potential readers, but it didn’t quite live up to my Bond standard.
A big part of the story was spent on a love affair between Bond and a monotone character that loves to play mind games. Bond would not have put up with that for long much less fall in love with this person on his first mission as a double-O agent.
Even though Bond goes on the mission incognito and assumes his alias working for Universal Exports, everybody knows his real name and new rank. Where’s the fun in that. He’s a spy that can’t even sneak around.
Narrator was solid but kind of one-dimensional in character presentation. This, and the lack of any actual “spy” drama, made it a tough listen at times.
As a Bond fan since the early seventies, I did enjoy the origin concept of Bond receiving his double-O status, but I cringed at how a bunch of his idiosyncrasies were originally contributed to other characters and were not his own fancies.
I.E.: his “shaken” martini, gun metal cigarette case, choice of cigarettes, etc.
I am not trying to put down the author. I enjoyed his Sherlock Holmes book “The House of Silk” very much! That was a riskier, edgy story that you would not forget.
