Historia
Burton and Ida Campbell stood by their wagon as four young killers rode in slinging bullets. Both their fathers were killed. Burton pushed Ida under the wagon and lay on top, protecting her. With blood dropping down the side of his head, the outlaws thought them dead. But they survived. When the killers left, their fathers were to be buried before they continued their trip to a ranch their fathers had purchased in the New Mexico Territory. They had no hope of ever catching the killers, but strange events prove otherwise.

A good book if you want a glimpse of the old west. So, sit back and take yourself back in time to a very Wild West.

Dan, a wise-cracking excessive drinker, is haunted by the memory of his dead wife. Shortly after the two won the lottery and purchased a small beach bungalow in the Florida Keys, her life was taken in a car accident. Soon after his wife's death, Dan relocated to the Keys with his wife's dog, whom he blames for her death. A fun summer summer read with a great narration
Revisado: 04-18-17
This is a humorous audio book with some great one liners. The narrator, Alex Robertson has a fantastic voice that makes this book even better. I'm looking forward to hearing more of these stories.

A Narrator to Look For, Alex Robertson
Revisado: 03-23-17
What did you like best about Life, Love and Adventure!? What did you like least?
Mr. Halpern's life was very interesting and diverse. I wish he would have gone into more detail about the Depression and the war. I found it very interesting to hear how ration books worked. I would have liked more information about his brother and how the war affected him. There were things in the book that interfered with the flow (like listing all the addresses to places and lists of people's names that didn't add to the story).
Who was your favorite character and why?
This book was about Mr. Halpern's life, so he is the main character. I liked hearing about how he helped people with mental disabilities find fulfilling work. Mr. Halpern is a man a of vision and drive to make things happen. I liked this part of his story. Mr. Halpern is a great problem solver and creative thinker.
Which character – as performed by Alex Robertson – was your favorite?
This book is mainly about one character, Mr. Halpern. At times, the author writes as if he is talking directly to the listener or reader. Alex Robertson's narration of this was spot on. I felt Mr. Robertson was speaking directly to me with encouraging words to make my life as good as it could be.
Could you see Life, Love and Adventure! being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I think Mr. Halpern lived a very interesting life. He had some very interesting things to say. I think his book could have been improved by having someone edit his work.
Any additional comments?
The narration by Alex Robertson was fantastic! It is easy to tell this is a very trained voice, which was relaxing and soothing to me. Mr. Robertson would be an excellent children's books reader (I'm a former grade school librarian, so I appreciate great narration.). I hope this narrator does more books, I will be looking for his name.
