Historia
A father and daughter try to survive the steady decline of all they know in this haunting thriller from award-winning author Ronald Malfi. First the birds disappeared. Then the insects took over. Then the madness began. They call it Wanderer's Folly - a disease of delusions, of daydreams and nightmares. A plague threatening to wipe out the human race.

An Origins Story
Revisado: 05-02-24
This is very much an origins story. Young girl awakens hidden powers that become stronger as the story progresses. She looses both parents to a contagion thats wiping out humans. Will she save the world? The story ends as she's on her way to meet someone older with powers that will teach her. If that's not an origins, I don't know what is! It's a good story. Kinda slow at times. I wasn't fond of the ending. The death is predictable, but not him dying alone. That's a contradiction. The narration was perfect.

On the worst day of her life, Karen finds that she will do anything to protect her family, and that the line between life and death has teeth.

Better than book 1!
Revisado: 03-04-20
I loved Karen's view point better than Jim's! This book tells of Karen's first day, along with Cliff and his family. The narration was perfect. I can't say enough good things about book 2! I have already started book 3.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 03-01-20
I thoroughly enjoyed this zombie audiobook. Jim is just your average guy, with an average job, living in an apartment with a wife and 2 little girls. The zombie apocalypse hits while he's at his job. The rest of the story is him trying to get home. He's got no extraordinary skills. He's got no military background. It's refreshing to listen to an average Joe kind of zombie book. I have already started book 2, which is Jim's wife's first day and it's even better!

Historia
As the flames of war threaten to engulf the globe, a new threat emerges. A deadly flu, the like of which no one has ever seen or imagined, relentlessly spreads, gripping the world by the throat and slowly squeezing the life from humanity. Eight soldiers, accustomed to operating below the radar, carrying out the dirty work of a modern democracy, become trapped within the carnage of a new and terrifying world. Deniable and completely expendable.

Zombie outbreak in England with special ops.
Revisado: 02-28-20
This books starts out 9 years after the outbreak, but luckily it quickly goes back and tells the beginning. It's basically the story of a special ops team and what they do during the zombie outbreak. If you've heard one military focused zombie outbreak audiobook, you've heard them all.

Allison the prepper
Revisado: 02-25-20
3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. This is a prepper book. If you've read one, you've read them all, basically. Allison's a prepper but she's highly offended when she's called a prepper. Why?....I have no idea. It's a GOOD thing. She's not a very likable character, to me. She's got to be tough in this world, I understand that, but she's just not likable as a character. If she's was to be killed off, I'd be ok with it and I don't think that's a good thing to think of the main character of a book. lol There's a lot of prepping in this book, even down to the little details of step by step canning. It was a good book, if you like prepping. I like everyone else's story lines, except Allison. They are what made me like the book so much and why I will continue onto book 2.
The narrator was superb! I've heard him before and he always does a fantastic job.

Where's the zombies?
Revisado: 02-25-20
This book wasn't for me. 90% of the book is the lead female being love struck like a 14 year old school girl. (She's 21) Every time the boy looks towards her, it's "he just looked at me. why did he just look at me? does he know I love him? does he love me too? I've only had these feelings for the past year. I get weak in the knees when he looks at me. I quit breathing. I have to remember to breath when he looks at me. I can't let him know I saw him looking at me. Oh, he just looked at me again. Why did he look at me again? I've felt this way for the past year. His hand brushed me shoulder. Why did his hand brush my shoulder?" and on and on. Literally 8 hours of this! Then he finally kisses her. The remaining of the book is her mentally anticipating them having sex. (I called it quits during the shower scene.) 5% of the book is the other couple having their love drama. And the remaining 5% is other stuff, like bad guys, the bunker, the town, etc. But there's no percentage of zombies you say?......I wish I'd timed it, because I think I'm being generous when I say maybe 2 minutes of the book were spent on zombies. To be fair, I didn't finish the book, because I'd had enough of the young adult romance during the shower scene. Maybe there was mention of zombies after that? I doubt it. The shower scene was near the very end.

Outbreak
Revisado: 02-20-20
What I enjoyed about this book/books is that the majority of the story is the outbreak. A lot of zombie books skip over all that and go straight to the the zombies. This tells of how the virus came to be, the first people infected, how the infection spread, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The narrator did a good job too. I will definitely be checking out more of Druga's books. It's refreshing to not be bombarded with "rape, pillage and plunder" in an apocalypse book!

Another great addition!
Revisado: 02-17-20
Who was your overall favorite character and why?
I think I've switched over and am liking Robyn more than Wren now! She's matured a lot of I love her snarky comments.
Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?
No one in particular. She did a fantastic job with all the characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I did.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, but they must listen to the first 3 books in the series first. If they liked those, they'll love this one.
What did you love best about the book?
What became of Elizabeth.
Which scene was your favorite?
Probably the show down with Susan's dad. (trying not to give spoilers)
Which character did you like least? And why?
Elizabeth and Susan's parents are equally horrible people. I dislike them all equally.
Any additional comments?
I can't wait for the next book in the series. I know there's more, but at the time of this review, they aren't on audible. I'll just have to wait.

Before the worst day of their lives, wild horses could not pull them together. Now, nothing can tear them apart...or so they thought. A chance meeting, a bad decision, a stormy night - the fuse is lit to their most explosive 24 hours yet. When the dead roam the streets, when enemies prowl in the shadows, and when strangers are not all they seem, the only people Wren and Robyn can rely on are each other.

It just keeps getting better!
Revisado: 02-14-20
Who was your overall favorite character and why?
Wren. She's been my favorite character in all 3 books. I'm starting to love Robyn more now too, since she's maturing. I love her snarky comments. Sooo funny!
Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?
Robyn. She does Robyn's snarkiness perfectly! She did a fantastic job with all the characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I did.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, but only if they've listened to the first 2 books.
What did you love best about the book?
That the cult ended up the way that it did.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Robyn tells Mathew she'd rather not stand around all day talking about the Pervy Prophet. That was hilarious!
Which character did you like least? And why?
It's about dead even with the Pervy Prophet and Mathew. Shoot, the whole family is horrible, even down to whiny little Ruth. (She slammed the door on Wren when the zombies were chasing them.) So I don't care how old she is. The whole family, including girlfriend Melissa, are dead weight.
Any additional comments?
The series keeps getting better with every book! I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Historia
For sisters Robyn and Wren, nothing will ever be the same. The cities are burning; the world is in chaos. The dead are rising...and they're hungry. Safety? Security? These words are meaningless now. They fight, they hide, they run. No rest. No respite. All they can cling to is hope. Hope they can find others. Hope they can learn the skills needed to survive. Hope they can stay together. Their situation seems desperate, and the only thing they can depend on is each other. But is that enough?

Just as good as the first book
Revisado: 02-11-20
Who was your overall favorite character and why?
Wren. She's been my favorite character in both books. She's very mature for her age, she's smart and she's bad *ass!
Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?
No one in particular. She did a fantastic job with all the characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I did. I may have had to pause it to listen to someone talk to me here and there, but I finished it all in less than a day.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, but only if they've listened to book 1. This isn't a standalone book and needs to be listened to after book 1.
What did you love best about the book?
That the sisters are still acting like sisters, bickering at times, calling each other names, but in a loving way. They're sweet.
Which scene was your favorite?
Probably when the brother and sister die. They were annoying and not suited for this world.
Which character did you like least? And why?
I've forgotten his name, because the book doesn't spend much time on him, but it's the main bad guy that's giving orders to his "troops."
Any additional comments?
This one picks up right where book 1 ends. It's just as good as the first one, if not better. I'm looking forward to the next in the series!
