Historia
NASA is about to launch Apollo 18. While the mission has been billed as a scientific one, flight controller Kazimieras "Kaz" Zemeckis knows there is a darker objective. Intelligence has discovered a secret Soviet space station spying on America, and Apollo 18 may be the only chance to stop it. But as Kaz races to keep the NASA crew one step ahead of their Russian rivals, a deadly accident reveals that not everyone involved is who they were thought to be. With political stakes stretched to the breaking point, the White House and the Kremlin can only watch as their astronauts collide.

A very believable space drama.
Revisado: 12-17-24
I thought the character and events were woven well into the Apollo history. The characters were very believable and I truly hated one even though I could empathize with their situation. Overall a nice drama that had me thinking.

Amazing characters you really care about.
Revisado: 11-15-24
The situation is crazy, the characters get into your heart. The humor is great but the touching moments are fantastic. Jeff Hays narration is amazing. It is so easy to keep up with who is talking and each character has such life. The story is dark at times right at the edge of my limits but I can’t wait for the next book.

The top 10 list is populated. The sponsorship program is open. The difficulty is ramping up. The first three floors were nothing compared to what Carl and Donut now face. The Iron Tangle. An impossibly complicated subway system built out of the world's subterranean railway systems, all combined and then tied together into a knot. Up is down.

Historia
When unforeseen circumstances during an innovative—and unsanctioned—commercial asteroid-mining mission leave two crew members stranded, those who make it back must engineer a rescue, all while navigating a shifting web of global political alliances and renewed Cold War tensions. With Earth governments consumed by the ravages of climate change and unable to take the risks necessary to make rapid progress in space, the crew must build their own next-gen spacecraft capable of mounting a rescue in time for the asteroid's next swing by Earth.

Revisado: 03-19-23
I love the look into how we could move mankind into a productive life in space. The science is grounded and the characters interesting. The reading is top notch as well. I love a book that makes you think about how you might have done things differently if you were in the characters shoes. Fantastic world building.

Historia
In Carrying the Fire, Michael Collins conveys, in a very personal way, the drama, beauty, and humor of the adventure of reaching the moon. He also traces his development from his first flight experiences in the air force, through his days as a test pilot, to his Apollo 11 spacewalk, presenting an evocative description of the joys of flight as well as a new perspective on time, light, and movement from someone who has seen the fragile Earth from the other side of the moon.

Revisado: 02-22-23
Mr Collins is a fantastic down to earth writer. His details in his experiences are well chosen and entertaining. I have read several astronauts autobiographies and this by far the best. If you want to know the honest truth about what it was like to be a astronaut in the sixties, this is the book.

By exploring the pitfalls of each era, they give their own speculations about the distant future, transformed by unbelievable technology ranging from genetic manipulation to artificial intelligence and quantum computing.

Revisado: 11-01-22
This book changed my mind on more than one technology. It was was interesting to see why we are so bad at predicting it. As with skeptical thinking just because you know your pitfalls does not mean that you can completely avoid them. I liked the short stories of future lives. A book that will make you think and dream of the future.

Fun and interesting dilemmas face fun and interesting characters. If you enjoyed the previous books in this series you will enjoy this one. I really enjoy the problems of trying to understand aliens and figure out how to interact with them. Voice reading is fantastic with it being easy to keep characters straight in the story.

Historia
It doesn’t have to be that way. Relax and Enjoy Your Food uses science and a little common sense to take away all that anxiety, and save you some money to boot. Once you let go of some ideas, it all gets simpler. There are no superfoods, no junk foods, and there aren’t even any health foods. There is just food, all of which provides some combination of the same seven basic things that all food does. That’s why the most specific advice you can get is to eat a variety of foods, mostly plants, not too much or too little. That’s it.

Historia
Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease - a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible. Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease.

Wow. Good info and has reversed my Type 2 diabetes.
Revisado: 09-28-21
This book was recommended to me by my boss after I told him I had recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I was very skeptical going in. But the more I checked Dr. Fungs claims the more convinced I became. Within three days of intermittent fasting my urge to urinate all the time was greatly reduced. Within a week my urges were completely normal. I had just been diagnosed so I stopped taking my newly prescribed metformin. I plan to see my doctor soon to check my A1C and blood glucose levels but I have not felt this good in years. I highly recommend this book to anyone with Type 2 diabetes. I feel that he has found the true root cause and treatment for it.
