Historia
Stanley Tucci grew up in an Italian American family that spent every night around the kitchen table. He shared the magic of those meals with us in The Tucci Cookbook and The Tucci Table, and now he takes us beyond the savory recipes and into the compelling stories behind them. Taste is a reflection on the intersection of food and life, filled with anecdotes about his growing up in Westchester, New York.

Love the candor!
Revisado: 05-03-23
I know him better now, just as a memoir should he shared himself. His adventures, trials, marriage, loss, and of course his courtship with food. His voice is perfect I still play on timer 15min. to help distract and fall asleep. He shares many restaurants he’s dined in and their special dishes. It’s a wonderful memoir with so many adventures. Even tibs of the Julia Julia movie with my fav also Meryl Streep. If you like travel and are a foodie this definitely will be enjoyable. Loved this book!

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Loved the honesty, Harry’s narration and getting all the details set straight.
Sad the story, really, of human behavior.
If interested in the Royal or Harry and Meg, get it straight here. Well done.

I most enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed Elisa was the main character an idealist, ambitious girl, when these virtues were not appreciated. Growing indigo was her passion which is the center of the story. Her relationship with slaves described the ignorance of society and her humanness. I appreciated this light.
I want to attempt to grow a garden of plants that offer dye now. Ben a slave she loved revered nature and was a talented man. Beautifully written couldn’t put it down.

Historia
Lucy Barton is a writer, but her ex-husband, William, remains a hard man to read. William, she confesses, has always been a mystery to me. Another mystery is why the two have remained connected after all these years. They just are. So Lucy is both surprised and not surprised when William asks her to join him on a trip to investigate a recently uncovered family secret—one of those secrets that rearrange everything we think we know about the people closest to us.

Love the author’s voice
Revisado: 07-02-22
I love books that delve into our humanness, vanity, strengths and weaknesses. How we perceive things incorrectly so often. The author unravels her evolution from childhood poverty, and abuse to becoming a famous writer. Although I don’t mean to mislead this is not all about her childhood it Oh William, after all.
William was a husband and their lives unfold in this story.
I keep wondering how in first person she kept my attention so well. I listened assuming the narrator was the author, but she was not. I enjoyed her tone, it was perfect for this story.
The author sometimes would say something that could imply….and would finish with but this did not happen. As I have above said she was not. I’m a poor grammar student seems this practice maybe be a style, or maybe just Elizabeth Strout’s style.
I liked everything about this book and will listen again hoping to learn from this beautifully written piece. It’s never to late to try.

Southern charm, bits of Female wisdom
Revisado: 01-22-21
I enjoy this series, the Southern influences the Vermont setting in the first book. It’s a bit predictable but light charming, often funny. Lele shares her life learning along the way, I’m sure many women will emphasize with. One critic I do not always know where the children are, I assume the writer is not a mother yet and let this go. I having been a restauranteur find most of the details believable, this was important to me. The setting often provides humor as I’ve experienced. Her characters are interesting enough but not overwhelming with details. I will continue the series. I enjoyed the narrator, I’m sensitive to voice and always sample before adding to library. Ya”ll give this series a chance.

People and things
Revisado: 10-20-20
I like psychology, and the characters are well developed and opposed. I find the hoarding aspect interesting regarding the elderly since I saw this in my Mother in her 80’s who lived to be 99. The eclectic artist, her demeanor were joyful to me although she was harsh she was very real. There are multiple transformations, realizations that what was believed was conjured more than real. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
