This book is based on a conference talk and brings no more value than one. If you need someone to give you a pep talk and encouragements with generalities, this might be for you, but you won't become a millionaire by following this book, probably your chances would decrease.
First of all, although I appreciate the female and minorities used as examples in the book, the book focuses more on a woke agenda than on actual business tips.
To summarise, the book advises having your husband do the house chores or hiring help, even hiring a driver to drive your kids around, preparing a nice office and dancing to celebrate making a list of things you want.
Even the useful tips in the book are simplistic, like not spending hours on social media but rather working.
The book is included in the Audible subscription so it's free, but even so it's not worth it.
I recommend reading any business person's biography instead, you'll learn much more.

A Long Pitch

The company I run switched to ROWE in the last 2 years, so I was very eager to find answers to some hard questions, however, like a sales pitch, the book repeats again and again how good ROWE and individual freedom are without addressing the difficulties. The examples and stories are caricatural with mature experienced individuals oppressed by egocentric power-hungry managers.

Important topics like:
- how to objectively set measurable results in a large backlog scenario
- how to fairly decide the workload expected of each team member
- how to run ROWE in a fast-scaling team/company
- how ROWE applies to entry-level hires
- how to protect the company and team against potential slackers
- how to make sure chasing results doesn't result in overworking (which does happen)
are not touched at all.

It's slightly disappointing that the book apparently speaks in a revolutionary tone only to employees to convince them to demand ROWE, but not to managers who could actually be convinced to implement it.

Lots of motivation, no learning

If you need motivation, you’ll like this book, but if you’re looking to learn something new, this book will disappoint.

The points made in the book are not backed up with solid arguments (like Never Split The Difference by Chris Voss does), nor does it provide real examples (like Malcolm Gladwell or Ben Horowitz do). The book is full of “you” and “your” motivational talk, with a couple of dozen modest mentions of the author’s New York Times Bestseller achievement.

If you don’t like the book after the first 10% of it, you can stop; it won’t bring you anything different in the rest of 90%.
